Even though Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body” (Island) collects a backward bullet as it dips 14-15, the availability of a digital download should send the song hurtling to No. 1 next week. That will give Carey her 18th No. 1 and push her past Elvis Presley’s 17 chart-toppers to land in second place among artists with the most No. 1s in the rock era.

While this is absolutely wonderful news, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This only means we have to work even harder to ensure it goes to number 1 next week.
