Mariah Carey has got her knickers in a twist after friends told the Radar Online website she is four months’ pregnant.
The singer’s team called us yesterday to insist there was ‘no truth’ in the claims … when we asked them point blank ‘Yes or no, is she pregnant?’ they stuck with the ‘no truth’ line.
Still, the Dream Lover’s husband, Nick Cannon, was happy to string out the gossip on American Idol on Wednesday and said that confused Mimi, 40, loved all the attention from the rumours.
‘She’s like, appreciating all the love that’s coming out… from everywhere but it’s just, like, when she’s ready to talk, she’ll talk,’ insisted Cannon.
Asked whether the couple were ready to have kids, the 29-year-old presenter dropped a pretty big hint about the couple’s plans, saying: ‘Right now, her and I are family but of course we would love to expand.’

Mariah Carey has dropped her biggest hint yet that she is pregnant with her first child.
The 40-year-old singer, who looked extra curvaceous during her concert in Brazil last weekend, says she will make an announcement ‘when the time is right’.
‘I appreciate everyone’s well wishes but I am very superstitious,’ she said in a statement released by her publicist Cindi Berger.
‘When the time is right, everyone will know - even Cindi Berger.’
Rumours about a possible Mariah Carey pregnancy began swirling earlier this summer and reignited last week when the pop diva stepped out wearing a $140 maternity dress.
The singer, who has been married to husband Nick Cannon for two years, poured her curves into a spaghetti strap halter neck frock from maternity clothing store Pea In The Pod when she visited a steak house in Brazil.
And last weekend, during her performance at a country music concert in Barretos, Sao Paulo, Carey was photographed ballooning on stage in a low-cut gown.
Cannon, 29, is also keeping mum about the pregnancy reports and addressed the subject during his radio show on Monday.
‘I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again,’ he said.
‘When my wife feels like talking about whatever she wants to talk about, you will hear it directly from her.’
Carey and Cannon, however, have made no secret of the fact they want to start a family together.
In October Carey told a US magazine: ‘Definitely, we want a family. It’s at the forefront of our minds.’

There are no idle moments in the hectic world of Mariah Carey.
The 40-year-old pop diva, currently sunning herself in Brazil, could soon be busy on American Idol.
Host Ryan Seacrest told E! news: “We are in the final stages of talks to have her on the show.”

Recently Mariah Carey’s close friend Jasmine Dotiwala interviewed Perez Hilton. Obviously MC was mentioned, and below is an abstract from the interview relating to Mariah from Jasmine’s Juice:
I follow Perez on twitter so I know his moods know no bounds and he can switch on a m***** f****** in hours so I asked him what the defining factors are in whether he likes or hates a celeb? He revealed ‘’There are factors, its a gut thing, my gut is usually right, I like people who are talented, that’s why I love musicians especially those that have a sense of humour…and those that work hard.’’
Now hearing Perez quote that made me sit back in awe as he is always cussing my girl Mariah and she is a talented hard worker with the funniest sense of humour most people have come across so I of course challenged him on it.
Perez broke it down like this ‘’I love Mariah, she is funny, but I expect more from her. Art is all subjective, I feel possessive about her and her music, and I have said this publicly, I think I have a good ear, I would love to give my ear to her and give her feedback….the last couple of albums haven’t been the best,,…I talk to Nick Cannon daily, I do a live feature to Nicks morning breakfast radio show, I know lots of hot producers for Mariah and would love to suggest people .i think she lost her sense of self, and wanted to rebel against her previous image too much, to me she’s a pop act but along the way she tried to reinvent herself as an urban artist, in the 90s she made Honey! I want Fantasy , Honey , Dreamlover….L.A Reid played me her album early once….’’ ‘’ In fact I’ve championed her when I had secret meetings with Simon Cowell and Simon asked me who should be an X Factor judge, I said ‘’not Cheryl cole, I said MC, ,then I think a rumour was started by Sinitta telling people it would be mc!’’
Perez and I then had around 10 minutes of me breaking it down for him that MC has to like all of us grow and change with the times and informed him that she had been doing urban versions of her tracks since the beginning and surely at this stage she should be allowed to make good music that she wants to make as opposed to trying to please everyone all of the time. We debated, we laughed. We raised our voices. We agreed to hang out in L.A the next time we were all there.
My theory with Perez feelings towards MC is that he’s frustrated that she doesn’t acknowledge him the way the Madonnas and the Kylies of the world do. Truly a diva in a league of her own not bowing to media manipulation.

R&B music in the mid-to-late ’90s was heavily dominated by make-up to break-up songs with soft beats and smooth melodies by the likes of Babyface, Aaron Hall, Blackstreet and Dru Hill, with Keith Sweat, R. Kelly and Mariah Carey dominating the airwaves. Mention the name Kelly Price and expect to recall a string of hits and chart-topping singles.
“Friend Of Mine” (ft. Ronald Isley and R. Kelly), “You Should Have Told Me” and of course the R&B classic “Heartbreak Hotel,” with singing legend Whitney Houston and Faith Evans, are to name only a few of the great work done by the multi-talented mother.
With a new self-titled album on the way in 2010, Soul Culture recently spoke with Kelly on her four-year break from the charts, weight loss, her new album and her admiration for Diddy.
During the interview Mariah Carey was also briefly mentioned:
“It was crazy how it all happened because I never wanted to be up front, I was always happy being the backing singer. I sang for so many people like Aretha Franklin, Mary J Blige and Mariah Carey. It was unreal but great to have been so privileged.”
“I would have been the highest paid backing singer at the time because of the reputation I had built and the passion I had for it. Mariah called me back to tour with her on several occasions whilst I was working on other projects – I mean, I also wrote music, and so it got to a point where so many people around me were constantly trying to tell me and encourage me to go forward for myself and sing my own songs.”

She’s been keeping a low profile of late, but seen here making her first public appearance in months, Mariah Carey is looking curvier than ever.
The singer and husband Nick Cannon have made no secret of their desire to start a family and the diva’s fuller figure will no doubt fuel speculation that motherhood could be on the cards.
Mariah, 40, was pictured in Brazil leaving a steak house in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and poured her voluptuous frame into a flowing brown maxi dress.
Back in October Mariah and her husband of two years Nick admitted they were keen to have children in the near future.
‘Definitely, we want a family,’ the American star told InTouch magazine. ‘Yes, of course. It’s at the forefront of our minds.
‘We’re very close. But we want to enjoy our first year together.
In the interview the couple, who split their time between their Los Angeles and New York homes, revealed they would like to have two children.
At the Independent Spirit Awards in March, Mariah dropped another hint, telling the crowd: ‘Something else very special is on the way!’
And in June, America’s Got Talent host Cannon, 29, joked he had a big announcement to make, saying: ‘I do want to make a big announcement right here on Daily 10 (an entertainment news show broadcast on the U.S. cable channel E!)… my Jack Russell terrier puppy Cha Cha is pregnant again!’
Yo-yo dieter Mariah was snapped on Thursday ahead of her scheduled performance at the Festa do Peão de Boiadeiro cowboy festival this weekend in Barretos, in the north of Sao Paulo.
But it’s not just the singer and actress’s personal life which is sending the rumour mill into overdrive.
According to reports the Precious actress is still in negotiations to be a judge on American Idol, according to a US report.
Sources claim the pop diva is keen to take part in the reality show because she’s seen the way America’s Got Talent has boosted her husband’s career.
If she signs up for the show she will sit on the panel alongside veteran judge Randy Jackson.
Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler is hotly tipped to fill another seat.
Carey, 40, is understood to have been approached by the Idol producers after music mogul Simon Cowell announced he was stepping down from the show.
The superstar singer has remained tight-lipped about whether she will take the judge’s job, but a celebrity news blog claims she is giving it some serious consideration.
‘She wants it,’ the source reportedly said. ‘She’s seen what America’s Got Talent has done for [her husband] Nick Cannon and thinks it will be a good career move.’
A rep for Carey has neither confirmed nor denied the rumours so far, simply stating that there is ‘nothing to report’.
According to the blog, Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe is keen to keep the judging panel down to three people - rather than the four they have seen in previous series.
The source claims Carey and Jackson have ‘great chemistry’, but this should come as no surprise seeing as they have worked together.
Jackson, 53, once worked as the pop diva’s musical director and has written and produced songs for her in the past.
Cowell, 50, announced that he was stepping down from American Idol in January this year - and fellow judge Ellen DeGeneres later revealed that she was also leaving the show.
It is unclear whether singer-songwriter Kara Dioguardi will be returning to the judges’ panel, but Tyler’s place on the show is reportedly ‘all but a done deal’.

Alexandra Burke was interviewed by the Daily Mail & Mariah Carey was briefly mentioned:
‘I don’t want to become too self-protective - not all Hollywood. Mariah Carey’s one of my heroes, but when I met her on The X Factor she had a massive entourage. I saw how controlled she was by it.
‘I don’t want that, which is why I just have my family around me. I am who I am and I like who I am. I’m a bit crazy, a bit dipsy - and a bit too soft.’

Mariah Carey sparks the mother of rumours as she sets tongues wagging that she may be expecting a baby.
The pop diva, 40, appeared to be hiding a baby bump as she grinned and waved to fans outside her hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she is currently on tour. One fan said: “She looked as though she was trying to cover something up under that dress.”
Both the singer and actor husband Nick Cannon, 29, refuse to confirm the speculation. Guess they’re keeping mum…

Eminem has decided to put his feelings for Mariah Carey behind him, so that they can both get on with their lives. Which is big of him. He claims that they were once lovers, which she denies.
The whole thing has been going on for some time, with Eminem referencing Carey in various songs, including one released last summer, ‘The Warning’, which contained samples of voicemail recordings the rapper claims were left for him by Carey during their relationship. Carey in turn has released two songs seemingly referencing Eminem (though not by name), including ‘Obsessed’, which is about a man who claims to have had a relationship with her.
You may remember that Carey’s husband, Nick Cannon, got a bit annoyed after Eminem included the line “Mariah, what ever happened to us, why did we have to break up, I want another crack at ya, Nick Cannon better back the fuck up, I’m not playing, I want her back, you punk” on a track from his ‘Relapse’ album, ‘Bagpipes From Baghdad’. There was some to-ing and fro-ing, in which both sides generally denied anyone had said or done anything.
In a new interview with Vibe, Eminem said: “You know what? I got to be honest. I really don’t want to talk about her any more only just because it’s kind of like the last thing I said about her was on ‘Cold Wind Blows’ [the opening track from his recently released ‘Recovery’ album]. I made the comment [”Take a look at Mariah next time, I inspire you to write a song”], [but] I don’t want to keep beating a dead horse. I’m not even going to comment about it. I’m done with that whole situation. I said what I had to say. I’m done”.

Mariah Carey would love to be a judge on American Idol, according to her hubby Nick Cannon.
Cannon has revealed that Mariah regularly talks about working on the hit US TV show, but due to her hectic work schedule may not be able to commit as a judge full time.
Nick explained to the Hollywood Reporter: “You know what? She talks about it. She says, ‘I would love to do that.’”
He added: “She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don’t know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do Idol.”
Cannon also claimed that despite the departure of Simon Cowell and now Ellen DeGeneres, he believes the show will continue it’s success.
He stated: “Simon Cowell was the anchor of the show. And when he stepped out, it’s like, now what? But as long as Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson stick around, I’m watching.”
In other American Idol news, it is thought that rumoured new judge Jennifer Lopez has been dropped as a potential replacement on the panel due to her ‘out of hand’ demands.
A source told People.com: “Her demands got out of hand. Fox had just had enough.”
Lopez was expected to be a judge alongside Aerosmith rocker Steve Tyler.
