Fiona Phillips reveals her GMTV secrets

Mon, Sep 1, 2008

Ireland & UK News

Pouting Mariah Carey swept into the room. Her huge, fawning entourage scuttled around her, glaring snootily at anyone who dared get in their way.

Music’s biggest diva perched herself on the sofa, removed the piece of chewing gum from her mouth and handed it to one of her several lackeys.

Fiona Phillips could only look on with a mixture of astonishment and amusement as Mariah fluffed her bouffant hair before positioning herself with excruciating care, first this way and then that, until she settled on the perfect pose.

“She’s ridiculous,” says Fiona. “She’ll switch positions until she thinks she’s arranged herself into the most flattering one. And then she won’t dare move a muscle for the duration of the interview.

“I speak as I find and she’s just rude. She’s brilliant with her fans but every time I’ve interviewed her she’s been awful.

“You see people like Mariah being followed by this procession of people all looking worried and scrabbling along like complete toadies.”

Diva Mariah is just one of the countless celebrities Fiona has faced across the GMTV sofa – and now she’s leaving them all behind.
