Why has the AI stucked at 4 million despite steady increase in Airplay?

Dubai,
It might be getting more spins at “small” area radio stations which won’t increase the audience impressions. It would be nice if the video were released. Maybe people will be reminded of how amazing a raw ballad sounds. Non Lambs (semi fans) can’t request the song if they haven’t seen or heard it. It needs more exposure and big city radio stations. Hopefully

Don’t grammy nominations get released today ??? I wonder if MC will get stiffed like last year with Touch My Body. MC deserves a few nods for Obsessed.

LambsGoHard,
Why not? It is a platinum single. It was very successful in the long haul and IDJ submitted the song for consideration in a couple of categories back a few months ago. I think the fact that the song didn’t hit #1 could actually help her. MC songs that have been nominated over the years I think were often overlooked because her commercial success was staggering than (i.e. Music Box, Daydream). Anyway, I’m just an optimist. It would be nice to see Mariah become the singer with the most grammy nominations and while I could be wrong I think she only needs one or two more noms.

Grammy folks don’t like Mariah – never have, never will. Wasn’t it obvious year after year, especially when they didn’t put ANY of her 2006 win’s on broadcast? Their excuse was “oh R N B awards don’t usually get broadcast”. Right…when Alicia Keys wins another award in R N B category it gets broadcast every single time, so enough said. Same with Jennifer Hudson (bless her heart), won for R N B album, which sucked, and got to have her little speech. Of course, no one wants to piss off Clive Davis who is behind these singers.
You can expect Whitney to make a big splash this year – again thanks to Clive Davis.

I don’t think that radio is personally ignoring MC as the success of Obsessed has shown. That song took off and as of last week, is still in the top 40 after 3 months. The problem is that the audience hasn’t been interested in IWTKWLI or Hateu so they did not take off. Us fans can request all day and night but if the general public is turned off, then it won’t go anywhere. Period, and Im just being real for a sec. The song is just TOO SLOW for most people. I now feel that way too much time has passed and most people’s interest has moved on from anything on this album. Personally, I’d like to see her put out 2 singles next, UOMF and Standing O, one for Pop and one for RnB. Most people still haven’t heard these songs so they would be the last chance to get a moderate hit. Both are extremely catchy and grab u the first listen. We dont need anymore “grower” songs to be put out.

B Rad,
I can’t agree with u more. In today’s markat, you need catchy songs like Up Out My Face and Standing O. Not grower songs like H.A.T.E.U. Moreover she sings in her whispery tone for a large part of the song, which has never really proven to be popular amongst the public. Through The Rain is the best example of this!
December 2nd, 2009 at 11:02 pm
Thorugh the Rain is a cornet stupid song with dumb lyrics. H.A.T.E.U. is a zillion times better. For me: Through the rain could be her worst ballad ever. H.A.T.E.U. is a creative and innovative ballad.

the video will most likely premiere at the VEVO launch on Dec 8th.
my guess.

Ok so i thought Obsessed wouldnt get nominated due to auto tune on Mariahs vocals and how the Grammys would snub any auto tune song in favour of more AC songs that normally rule the grammys.. then i read how BEP & GaGa etc have been nominated numerous times so that threw my theory out the window.. even ‘Blame It’ got nominated a few times so its official.. the Grammys hate Mariah.. i just dont see how as she is such an amazing singer, songwriter, producer etc she deserved so much more credit! Would love to know why this continues every year..
