Maybe Mariah Carey vs Jump Smokers release is a totally separate release than that of Angels Advocate??? It could explain the change in release date… also no news outlet in America is reporting a change in the release… so hopefully AA is still out here in March!

Most lambs (I’m a lamb too, so please,no haters!) are going to sad or disappointed, but I’m overjoyed. This album is destined to fail in its current state. If God did exist and had his eyes on Mimi and her lambs, Mariah would get the hell out of IDJ and scrap a lot of the remixes. (Ribbon leaked..uninspired, to say the least.)

The theme and idea of her album is sick. but when you get the Dream crooning obnoxiously, it’s not good.

When you have her label promoting the shit out of Rihanna and doing nothing for Mariah Carey, there must be a problem. I want a Mariah Carey and Beyonce duet. I want it now!! Standing O would have been PERFECT and gotten HUGE crowds and followers on the album.

The underlying problem is IDJ. Almost everyone I have asked about Mariah’s new album have looked at me in astonishment. They don’t know she has a new album , they don’t know she has 2 new singles, and they didn’t know about H.A.T.E.U. or IWKWLI.

    What a surprise! NOT!

  4. obsessed fan Says:

How could people not have known about IWTKWLI? She sang it dozens of times - on Oprah, on The View, on GMA. It just didn’t take off. Well, a good music video might have increased publicity for the song - after all the critics were raving about it. Too bad for radio - they’re determined not to let Mariah hit #1. And the video was crap too.

  5. Jeff Says:

@ Kevin Rihanna has been putting out hit singles so of course IDJ is gonna give their time to the artist that is bringing in the money.

Also Mariahs tour ended 2 weeks ago and still no promo from her, she has given up in the project not IDJ. Shes too busy in her honeymoon to pay attention to her singles.

@ Obsessed Fan, Radio has no say weather Mariah will be number one or not.

All the songs you hear on the radio such as Kesha, Derulo, Rihanna and Gaga (beyonce) are requested by everyone, not enough people request mariah, sadly the reality is that no one is checking for mariah anymore except us Fans (lambs). And is not that radio is Sabotaging Mariah is just that her songs are not radio material and her music is not whats “iT” these days.

  6. MCboo Says:

I told you guys bad news was coming but I was not able to divulge before but now that it is out of the bag, I will reveal more:

Jumpsmokers remix album will be issued separately from the Angels Advocate R&B/Hip-Hop verson on May 25.

As far as I know it looks like AA could also be pushed into April.

  7. Deshawn Says:

YA’LL NEED TO UNDERSTAND THAT IT’S NOT MARIAH’S DECISION WHEN TO RELEASE AN ALBUM OR SINGLE. THAT’S UP TO IDJ. SHE JUST HAS TO GO WITH THE FLOW AND KEEP A SMILE. SO DON’T BLAME MARIAH.

  8. Kevin Says:

L.a. Reid CHOSE IWKWLI as a single. The same thing happened with E=MC2. Mariah wanted Migrate, L.a. Reid wanted Bye Bye, and that only hit 19.

L.A. Reid wanted Mariah to work with the Dream. terrible choice. the production was TERRIBLE in Memoirs. Look at the Ribbon Remix, it was a disgrace.

There was no way H.A.T.E.U. or IWKWLI was going to be a hit, they go against what is popular in radio right now. That is totally IDJ’s fault.
Did you notice that when Russian Roulette by Rihanna wasn’t doing too hot, IDJ released Hard days after? Then they released ANOTHER single that all have done moderately well. Of course, she’s performing on the Kids’ Choice Awards, performed at the AMA’s. Even Jennifer Lopez has had WAAAAAAAAY more TV time that Mimi. Mariah Carey hasn’t performed in a large TV spot in a LONG time.

No one KNOWS that Up Out My Face exists, and how should they? No one has heard of it, so, therefore, it hasn’t been playing on radio, and because of that, noone requests it. it’s cyclical.

  9. Jeff Says:

    @ Kevin

Maybe Mariah should stop listening to L.A. Reid and make her won Choices.
No Offense But LA Reid is Like a new Tommy controlling Mariah’s Music , Mariah should do what the hell she wants to since is her album and she writes her own songs.

FYI-Mariah wanted HATEU to be the 2nd single that was gonna be a bad choice anyways.

Rihanna has sold more than Mc and her singles have done much better than any of MCs singles because Rihanna is out there and promoting her singles and her Music is “It” these days.

Also UOMF and Angels Cry Videos get heavy rotation on MTV Hits and VH1 soul, Mariah has not gone on one single show to promote and has not even mentioned anything about the singles. In a big wayy Mariah has given up on her projects ever since E=MC2 which is sad cuz shes not half as dedicated as she used to be.

  10. joe Says:

    Jeff,

I have noted comments here repeatedly that fans don’t seem to believe Mariah’s past statement in 2002 on Oprah that she wasn’t going to be out there working and promoting like she did pre-breakdown. Fans still don’t believe her, so can we all just stop beating a dead horse. E=MC2 died after TMB, Memoirs died after Obsessed. Let’s all move on!

  11. klos Says:

This will a great album… pushed back several times… just as MOIA And it will be a worse flop than MOIA…

Hate that but it is the truth… if now people don’t know anything about this album… 2 months later will be too late… this era is done… love her singles but she’s not doing anything for promo… I think lambs are tired of support her while she’s not supporting her singles… and her label isn’t supporting her singles…

so sad… that album has great songs…

  12. Supermariah Says:

    idj sucks!

  13. Andrey Says:

In my opinion Betcha Gon Know
is the best for single. This song has something special. I think it would have sounded on the radio is much better than all the rest

  14. Mariah on fiyah Says:

Rihanna is making POP flavored music, coupled with great videos, intense promotion……. that’s why she’s selling

Mariah is stuck at urban hip hop and that sound is not IT at the moment. Coupled with pushbacks, dire videos, lack of promo and a confusing all around management = fail.

    Thats it.

  15. Candy Bling Says:

I’m not surprised at all. I always believed JS Vs MC was totally separate from AA and assumed they would both come out at different dates.

  16. B Rad Says:

    @ Mariah on fiyah,

I totally agree with you. In order for MC to make a ‘HIT’ in today’s current market, she is going to have to step out of her rnb, hiphop box and step back into Pop. She should work with Pop producers that will put the focus back on her voice and not just the beat, which is why imo UOMF is failing. She needs to up her visability too. Beyonce, Rihanna, and Lady gaga are performing all over the place. I also feel that she needs an image overhaul. Sadly most people have a negative view of her, from her clothes, how she performs, and how she comes off in interviews. Instead of her not listening to the haters, i feel like she inadvertantly feeds them and makes it worse (like having Nick hold her mint on the red carpet).

However, I just wonder what MC’s take on her album sales and failing singles are……

Also, in reference to the Oprah 2002 interview, yes MC said that career would not be number 1. However, in 2005, she promoted the hell out of TEOM. She was everywhere performing everywhere.

  17. B Rad Says:

Oh yeah, i forgot the videos. Again, the ‘IT’ people of today (wont mention their names because some people get upset….) work with cutting edge video producers and step outside of the box for video concepts, costumes, etc. Performances have to be larger than life. She needs to be a confident woman on and off stage rather than an intimidated 12 yr old girl. The game has been taken to a different level now. MC needs people around her that can help her get to the next level that we know she can reach. She still has the looks and definitely the voice to do so. Will MC rise to the occasion??

  18. Hi Says:

Pop is the way to go if she wants another #1

  19. Ben Says:

I don’t want Mariah to go pop, i still think UOMF is a silly song, just like Boy i Need You, I´m That Chick and even TMB, by far not good enough for an artist like Mariah. I hope from now on she will go for quality instead of quantity and that she will be a great album-artist. Think of tracks like WBT, Mine Again, Side Effects, Thanks 4 Nothing and It´s A Wrap.

  20. Jeff Says:

    @ B Rad

    Preach , Preach

  21. Marc Says:

Even though I don’t want Mariah to revert back to POP music, I do see where the industry is going, so I must partially agree with B Rad. You make great sense man! The game has been changed. Can MC now deliver in this new musical landscape?

  22. B Rad Says:

I’ve been a fan since VOL literally (9 yrs old then) so it can be frustrating not seeing her at the top where she belongs and getting the respect for all that she has accomplished. She has influenced so many artists over her 20 year career. Sometimes I just wish that she would take herself and career more seriously. IMO, thats where it begins. If MC doesn’t take herself seriously, then others won’t which is why we are where we are today……..

  23. joe Says:

There are alot of odd similarities between Mariah and Michael Jackson:

Both were controlled by an older male figure early in their careers.

Both had/have Peter Pan “eternal child” complexes.

    Both had troubles with Sony.

Both have been deemed “strange, oddball” and the like.

Both are the most successful solo acts, male and female, in terms of combining #1 hits and worldwide album sales.

MJ was the first solo male to debut #1 on the Hot 100 and Mariah was the first solo female to do so.

Both have had fan bases somewhat turn their backs on them until they made significant music news.

  24. Jason Says:

    Joe,

That’s scary in a way. I know that there are similarities but when I think about Michael being gone, I CAN”T EVEN IMAGINE THAT THOUGHT WHERE MARIAH IS CONCERNED. I grew up with MC. I’m 36 and can’t even imagine not having her voice in my life. The tough days are easier when you pop an MC song into your ipod. I still get motivated by songs like There’s Got To Be A Way, Make It Happen, Hero, Mariah’s Theme, etc…

  25. Candy Bling Says:

When people say she needs to make pop do you mean in the vein of Gaga, Kei$sha, BEP etc? electro pop?

  26. obsessed fan Says:

The music landscape nowadays is just crap and more crap. Listen to Blah Blah Blah. And Tik Tok. And Imma Be. RUBBISH!

  27. Marc Says:

    Obsessed fan,

    Amen!

  28. rea c Says:

There have been no recent postings about UOMF on 106 & Park. Did
    it just drop off completely?

  29. Jason Says:

    @Obsessed fan and Marc,

Halleighlulia. I confess that I would like Mariah to put a POP throwback (like 1 or 2 songs) on one of her albums but something like “Whenever You Call” . Mariah has stated that SHE HERSELF is willing to sacrifice sales to make music that she wants to make. She continues to grow as a singer and as an artist. Her songwriting abilities are getting better and better with time. One day, I hope the “haters” and the “grammys” will look back and reflect on their poor decisions. With no disrespect, Madonna can perform on a stage and crucify herself, Brittany can shave her head, the wholesome (give me a break) repeated Grammy Winner Beyonce can stick her ass all over the place, and Lady Gaga can call her fans Little Monsters which no one objects too, but some object to MC calling her fans lambs (give me another break). Perhaps we should reflect on the fact that One Sweet Day never won a Grammy but the piece of garbage called “I Gotta Feeling” won a few. Gee—What Brilliant lyrics!!! LOL
