It’s nice to see that Mariah is getting some well deserved attention overseas. It would be nice if her own country showed a little damm respect and played her music to at least give it a shot. Than again, I understand why they wouldn’t. These 2 songs would be big hits and I guarentee that even “casual” Mariah fans would be into UOMF and AC. While I’m not a conspiracy theorist, I have to believe at this point that Radio knows these songs stand the chance at hitting number 1 if they have the proper exposure.
Bottom line — God for bid the Beatles should be surpassed by someone who doesn’t have a Penis (Sexism — What year is it — Oh, that’s right, it’s 2010 — How Sad).
God for bid the Beatles should be surpassed by someone who is half black — This coming from a white man who is sick and tired of discrimination of all kinds.
Ageism??? — God for bid Radio recognized that a 39 year old woman is still making relevant music.
From now on, I’ll just listen to songs on you tube and make my purchases based on what I hear. Radio can go to hell.

I wish I lived in Brazil where people still have a liking for hearing good music. If MC had released IWTKWLI 10 years ago, it probably would have rivaled One Sweet Day. Anyway I’ll always be a faithful lamb and I hope I can buy albums from her when I’m an old man LOL

Well I do believe in conspiracy theories and I think that is exactly why radio has frozen out these songs. They don’t want her to tie The Beatles. Plain and simple!

Well, let’s make it a hit outside of the US then, i just voted three times! This song is so fantastic……….
March 5th, 2010 at 1:47 pm
ah, i agree with jason. if IWTKWLI was released in 1998 or summin it probably wouldve been a straight number 1 for weeks. oh well, i gave up on radio ever since “i stay in love” came out.
a lot of my friends dont even kno hu mariah is, i have to refer to her as the “touch my body” singer,(sigh) god knows she deserves better.
lol xD
anyway, i still got my fingers crossed for “up out my face” because memoirs made a mysterious leap in the charts, hmmmm…
March 5th, 2010 at 1:56 pm
Memoirs made a leap because they now counted those mysterious sales of Betcha Gon Know during the first week the album was released.
March 5th, 2010 at 2:19 pm
The Vulture and Mariah on fiyah,
The leap for Memoirs is not mysterious nor is it couting past downloads it has to do with the tour and the album having been on sale at Best Buy.

I expect Angels Advocate to sell about 35,000 units its first week. Anyone else want to weigh in?
March 5th, 2010 at 2:39 pm
I expect it to sell 20,000 copies.
March 5th, 2010 at 2:54 pm
i think it will do better…
mybe not 100,000 copies
but more than 20,000 for sure…(i hope!)
March 5th, 2010 at 2:58 pm
let’s wait and see how the label is going to promote the new release
cause i read somewhere that there will be a whole new promotional thing….there’s the “vh-1 storyteller” show that i really want & hope Mariah will do…it’ll be like doing Unplugged again so i’m excited to see what’s in store for us!
March 5th, 2010 at 4:09 pm
they should shelved that album,
the dissapointing sales will have every blogger and mariah hater happy.
March 5th, 2010 at 9:47 pm
I agree with Jeff.
Or somehow tuck in Angels Advocate as a MOAIA re-release… like Memoirs of an imperfect angel: Angels Advocate Edition or something, lol.
This way sales would count towards MOAIA and save her of the complete embarrassement.

I agree with tomer vh-1 storyteller” it’ll be like doing Unplugged again I have been waiting for this show since 2009,,, then they said early january… january finished,,, now I really hope she does that show… of course mariah doesn’t have the same voice as 1990 or 1993 but she still sings beatiful and I’d like to see her in that kind of shows…
March 5th, 2010 at 10:12 pm
Since we are on topic, do you guys know exactly what is the VH1 Storytellers thing?
I had read back in August when it was first announced that she would do that special that she would sing songs from Memoirs and explain how each song was created. So what exactly is the deal with this special/unplugged concert? Do you guys know?
March 5th, 2010 at 10:38 pm
I have seen vh1 show just 1 time with a group that I don’t know who they are.. but it a nice concept.. these people tells something (maybe something funny or something interesting)about the song they’ll perform … then they perform the song.. But this is an intimate show… just a few people are in the show live.. It’s almost the same that UNPLUGGED… That’s the reason that I’d love mariah does that show… It would be great to see her in a second unplugged(VH1 storytellers) I think in that show she would sing 100% live every song she perform… It would be great listen her beautiful voice in this show… because she lipped parts of the songs in 2009 (not all the songs but parts)
March 6th, 2010 at 2:14 am
Oh Ok! Thanks klos.
Hopefully she will perform songs from her older albums as well. IF she eventually does that show.
I love her Unplugged concerts (Unplugged, NY Stripped performance).

I think if AA is destined to flop, it would be better for IDJ to re-release a repackage version of MOAIA with AA as a second CD. This will surely bring back Memoirs to the Top 10 then people will get notice of it and buy.

@Dubai I agree!
March 6th, 2010 at 7:36 am
totally agree wit Dubai and obsessed fan!!
March 6th, 2010 at 11:08 am
Dubai, i agree too, i also don’t think Angels Advocate will be a big success since the singles seem to be big flops (again).
March 19th, 2010 at 1:57 am
I’ve always loved her ballads. The first time I heard the song, I knew that I’m going to obsess over it. I will always be a fan.
