Mariah Carey’s UK Sales Update – LoveSongs/The Ballads

Mariah Carey: LoveSongs managed to sell a better than expected 5,004 units last week in the UK to enter the charts at No.54.
As sales from this release are being merged with that of Mariah Carey: The Ballads, total sales to date stand at 174,050 units.

Very glad to see it sold more than the previously announced est. of 3000 units. The Ballads has sold more units in the UK than it has in the USA.

I wasn’t talking about chart position the first week, but overall sales tally. The Ballads has sold about 120,000 units overall in the USA which is less than the 174,000 units it has sold in the UK.

I think it is too soon to release UOMF to iTunes because songs that don’t get major airplay at POP literally never chart well on the Hot 100. Oh well.

well i will buy my copy of the song, the song will definitely chart on bb100, maybe not a great position tho. i will be happy with 60-100k downloads. i think angels cry is gaining more momentum that UOMF presently.

Has AC overtaken UOMF in airplay? I am wondering if the label might dump AC and promote UOMF more? I am glad UOMF will be her 42nd career entry on the BB Hot 100. I think it’ll probably sell 100,000 downloads the first week and enter the Hot 100 at around the mid-40s. I hope it goes higher though.
