Mariah Carey showed things aren’t all bad behind-the-scenes on the popular talent shows she spent some time off the set with Randy Jackson.

The 42-year-old was spotted leaving a restaurant in the San Fernando Valley area of California on Saturday night.

And from the look on her face any problems she may have been having at her new job were not affecting her friendships elsewhere with her co-workers and crew.

The singer appeared to be in great spirits as she waited to get into a car, smiling from ear to ear as she was surrounded by her friends.

Mariah wore a purple ensemble which consisted of velvet trousers and a peep toe high heels.

She teamed the pieces with a cropped black leather jacket and showed off huge diamonds on her fingers.

Randy, 56, sported double denim with his jacket and jeans, donning blue and white footwear to match.

The singer may have been dining out with the record producer to celebrate her 16th number one single on the Billboard Dance/Play Club Songs chart with her track Triumphant.

The first time she featured was with her tune Someday in March 1991.
