Glad to see she’s on the charts, but seriously 19,200 downloads? That’s less than TRIUMPHANT did in it’s first week. Where are all the fans and why aren’t you buying this?

So, does this means that less then 19,200 Lambs are left in the USA?

Sadly, probably even less considering that many including myself downloaded it more than once. It was also a little frustrating that on her two tv appearances this week it was not discussed except for very briefly in passing on LIVE WITH KELLY and MICHAEL.
I know these appearances were to promote AI but you’d think she could slip it in once. I guess we’ll see what happens when the video is released on Friday with the movie.
Looks like Mimi fans are heading for extinction.

kake1959-
I agree with you. Mariah fan base is evaporating before our very eyes. It’s pretty sad Almost Home sold less than Triumphant its first week. The USA fans are pretty worthless. Very sad. I hope the film being released this week helps but if it doesn’t, then we might be looking at another MC single flopping which won’t be good news when her album single comes because radio will be even MORE reluctant to hear anything from her due to 2 singles possible flopping. Sad time for Mariah’s fledgling career and a sagging music industry.

I don’t think that is the case because iam a lamb and i didn’t download because i don’t know how to do that. i don’t belong to itunes and amazon and other downloading sites mariah carey fans are older and may not know how to dowload off itunes. she has 9 million twitter followers and facebook a lot of the fans don’t know she has a single out.i wouldn’t know if i didn’t check her sites daily i love the new can’t download because i don’t know how when her album comes out i always get it on the first day of release to help in her first day sales.

Honestly I didn’t expect heaven & earth for this single because it is just a theme for a Disney movie. Not the official single of Mariah’s new album. I guess fans and the people in general are waiting for the official single.

It’s easier for me to download using Amazon if you don’t have Itunes installed. On Amazon you just need to register for a Username and password and look for the song and download. It’s pretty easy.
Otherwise you can search for the single on Itunes website, and, if you don’t have the software already installed , they’ll redirect you to do so.
I think that’s a real concern though.

You can also download it using Google Play if you have a smart phone.
With over 9,000,000 twitter followers and 10,000,000 facebook followers, and people constantly asking for new music from her, 19,000 downloads seem pathetic.

There is this thing called infinitelooper. It continually plays the video non-stop to increase the # of Youtube hits of that video. I’ve been using the infinitelooper for the song Almost Home that is on Mariah Carey’s Vevo account. Does anybody of you guys know if this thing actually works?

It’s not Mariah’s fault, rather series of bad business decisions.
She has a bad management (Randy and Irvin are old school), she doesn’t tour, she has tied up herself with label that clearly doesn’t want her and not support her, she refused to evolve her sound, works with the same producers that had a hit almost decade ago… After this she will need a miracle and probably the biggest hit in her career to comeback and start sell enough.

Bojan-
YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD. I adore Mariah dearly but she seems so insecure that she refuses to take major risks and is too comfortable working with the same people over and over again. I won’t call Randy a bad manager, yet. Mariah is not an entertainer, so incessant touring would not really help her, but she could benefit from doing more random shows throughout the year to keep a real connection with fans. She does need to get away from IDJ. They don’t give a damn about her and I don’t get why she acts like she has NO power as an artist to do anything. She doesn’t need a comeback, as she has never left, it’s just more appropriate to say her career needs another chart topping hit with mass global appeal.

I agree with both Bojan and Joe –
It seems whenever we get to a new Mariah release, we always find ourselves discussing the same bad decisions, poor sales, lack of support and “where are all the lambs” questions but, ultimately, what suffers is the music. ‘Triumphant’ was very underwhelming for many with many criticising Mariah for being “the featured artist.” ‘Almost Home’ sees mariah singing in full voice, is acclaimed by music critics, is radio friendly, has crossover appeal but so far, has sunk. Admittedly, the film and video release may go some way to redeem it but it will be what it will be in the end.
And whilst those questions are valid and do contribute to the outcome, I do think Mariah has to take some responsibility.
Mariah is an entertainer, she can be a dynamic live performer. Concerts in 1995/1996, 1998, 2000, 2003/4 and to some extent in 2006 showed that. But recently, Mariah the diva has taken central stage. And it’s a turn off. I am not talking about her humour and stuff like that but it’s how precious she has become. Everything immaculate, barely on stage, predictable set lists and the critical mauling that she gets for it. Hardcore Mariah fans are not the only ones who attend her shows and Mariah, with one of the greatest voices in the history of recorded music should be selling out arenas, not theatres and there is something to be said about that.
Mariah’s image and attitude is foremost in people’s minds and her voice is secondary, and that is having a detrimental effect. Mariah was everywhere for Mimi, but we haven’t seen that level of promo for an album since.
I have been a fan since day 1 and will always be a lamb4life and to me, Mariah is legendary and a place in music history is assured but watching her evolution over the years, it has been like watching two different people. It was once said on this website that Mariah has become a caricature of herself and it seems there are many people who agree with that.
I love ‘Almost Home’ and want nothing more for it to be successful but perhaps what needs to change is the constant pressure of the elusive 19th #1. Maybe it will happen, maybe it never will but until changes and effective decisions are made, until Mariah re connects a little bit and people outside her fan base see her as relevant, I cannot see it happening.
