Mariah Carey Gets Back in the Studio with The-Dream

Thu, Oct 18, 2012

News

Although her “American Idol” gig continues to grab headlines, Mariah Carey is actively back in the studio working on her next album. She reunited with The-Dream this week, sharing a photo with her Lambs on Twitter.

“Living The-American-Dream pon de studio,” tweeted Mimi, rocking a pair of hot pink leggings and a black tank top as The-Dream hid his face behind a fan of money.

The two previously worked together on her 2009 album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel including the singles “Obsessed” and “H.A.T.E.U.” The-Dream is now Executive Vice President of A&R at Mariah’s label, Def Jam Records.

Mariah seems to be recruiting plenty of big names for her next project. The pop diva was in the lab with R. Kelly during her trip to Chicago last month and enlisted Rick Ross and Meek Mill for her single “Triumphant (Get ‘Em).”

Official boycotting this new record. Triumphant, R Kelly the PEDO, the American Idol fight and now this are just too much.

  2. joe Says:

    Ana-

I’m not going so far as boycotting the record, as one should wait to hear the music first. However, I am deeply troubled by the lack of risks Mariah doesn’t take with her music and the tired formulaic approach she seems all too comfortable with. What happened to her?

  3. Tenisha Says:

Oh hell naw is MC self destructive or wut? Dis a mess! Imperfect Angel was wack and flopped. Wut she doing workin wit Dream again? Lawd almighty help us

  4. Rude Boy Says:

The same old loser fans like Joe & Ana. Go to hell…..

  5. Ana Says:

Rude Boy: never commented on this site before so not the ‘same old loser fans’ you’re on about. And judging by the lack of comments on this site nowadays, it would appear I’m not the only one boycotting Mariah. Whether you choose to face it or not, Mariah’s career is dying a pretty slow death at the moment. The fact she’s even on AI proves this. And I agree with Joe. She’s just recycling the same ideas with each album. From what I can gather, she’s trying to recreate Butterfly/MOAIA..

  6. Rude Boy Says:

Darling Ana, I don’t care if Mariah’s career is dying as you claim. I will always be a fan. The name Mariah Carey has been written above the stars already. She’s a legend. The best thing is she had achieved everyhting that no one will ever achieve. Now if you want to agree with that Go to hell. A fan is always a fan. I dont know about you and Joe who are “fickle minded” which is a sign of idiocracy.

  7. Tanisha Says:

Oh hell naw! Naw naw naw Mimi wut is you thinking working wit teh Dream? Imperfect Angel was whack plz someone say dis a prank

  8. Ana Says:

Rude Boy, you’re mistaking me for someone who cares. You’re obviously very close minded when it comes to Mariah and that’s fine, but I refuse to just smile and nod like a sheep (excuse the pun). Let’s just remember that she rose to fame as a vocalist. That is her ‘thing’; her x factor: that voice. So to see her now helplessly mime her way through nearly every performance while trying to pass it off as live during concerts makes it hard for me to remain a faithful lamb. Especially after paying a good $200 to see her back ‘10. I understand the effects overuse, age and vocal nodules have, but there are ways around it. One is cutting alcohol from your diet, or at least reducing it. Yet has she done that for the sake of her precious lambs? No. The other is getting proper vocal training and attending all the dress rehearsals, but she rarely does this either (hence why she often forgets which bits shes miming, therefore turning her head or covering her face with her arm).

Believe it or not, I am a supporter. However, I’m finding it easier to criticise her than defend her at the moment. Maybe I was hasty to say I would boycott her new music, but I doubt I will buy judging by Triumphant.

  9. joe Says:

    Ana-

Thank you for being open enough to see the truth. I support Mariah too but if having an opinion of my own and not being force fed whatever she does makes me a loser, then so bed it. Rude Boy is a bully of the worst kind and he feels any criticism of Mariah is a betrayal. I worry about fans like him but I wish him well.

  10. Allan Says:

MOAIA is one of my all time fav MC albums, I don’t get why it is so panned by the lambs! Candy Bling, More Than Just Friends, Inseparable etc. The album is quality and I genuinely don’t skip any of the tracks. It’s up there with Butterfly, Daydream and TEOM for me. I, for one, am looking forward to see what The Dream and MC come up with this time around.

  11. MClamb Says:

Memoirs is NOT up there with Butterfly or Daydream. Saying that is just pure heresy!

  12. Tobby Says:

Memoirs is AMAZING. It’s so smooth and flows so nice.

    I love that album.

  13. Rude Boy Says:

Some fans really judge an album by its sales. If an album sell well they say its beautiful, if it sells moderately, it’s bad. Memoirs is beautiful IMO. Even official music critics have praised that album. Only the so called “lambs” panned it. Memoirs may be a bit different as expected but is conceptualized flawlessly.

  14. indi Says:

    Rude Boy-

You are are a hot ass mess of a fool. STFU, dweebhomo.

  15. bei Says:

HAHAHA indi, couldn’t agree more. It’s because of butt kissing yes-fans like rude boy that we’re in this mess of an era we’re in. Mariah could release a whole album of her farting and rude boy would still be praising it as a masterpiece and attacking anyone who disagrees.

  16. joe Says:

    bei and indi-

YES!!! The ass-kisser “YES” fans are exactly the reason Mariah’s career continues to slide into the dumps. It’s sad a lot of lambs see constructive criticism and hating on MC. No wonder lambs no longer have any power to push her songs into the Hot 100. Look at the flop that was Triumphant! Nice message, but the song should never have been released. Mariah needs to sing and stop hiding her vocals behind overproduced material not worthy of her VOCAL talent, which is what made her famous.

  17. Gurl Says:

I think there are only 25,000 die-hard lambs left. The rest are fair-weatherers and band-wagon followers!

  18. Rude Boy Says:

I don’t care what the fair weathered fans are saying. Fans like them are not worthy of Mariah.

  19. Gurl Says:

^^^ Exactly, the has-been Lamb Flops is what I like to call them! LOL

  20. R&B Says:

I think Mariah’s new CD will be great. Haters love to try to control the narrative, but they cant contol her music. She always puts out something to love. If this site is quiet it’s because people get sick of fighting and that’s all some fair weathers like to do is diss and dump. Nobody is here for that shit. Pun intended.

  21. Ana Says:

Everyone has an opinion and everyone has a right to speak it. And technically, if we want to get into things, you so called ‘hardcore lambs’ are also haters because you constantly hate on the ‘has-been Lamb flops’ – even when they write something positive. Either way, this commentry is good as it’s probably the most active post this site has seen in months.

  22. steve Says:

Triumphant is currently rated number 1 song at the urban format at http://www.ratethemusic.com

  23. Gurl Says:

Everyone has an opinion and blah blah blah. Your opinion only matters if it’s positive sweetie. I don’t come here to see negativity from some bleak bitter queens. If ya wanna hate, go to an anti-mariah site and spew your ignorance there.

  24. Ana Says:

Spew my ignorance? Oh, the irony. Don’t like my comments, don’t read ‘em. Simples(:

  25. joe Says:

An opinion only matters if it is positive? Last time I checked this was the USA I lived in, not China. Maybe dissent is silenced where YOU live, but not in America. #BOOM

  26. Jeff Says:

The whole point of a comment section is to express your opinion and say whatever the hell you want.
I’m pretty sure gurl and rude boy are a bunch of high schoolers.
I used to be the same way but I grew out of that eventually. I learned the world didnt revolve around Mariah.

  27. Gurl Says:

Express your opinion but keep it cute. There’s always some cheap-skate that tries to start trouble. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

And Ana, I thought you were boycotting Mariah?!? Get to steppin’ already.

  28. joe Says:

I can tell by the vernacular of Rude Boy and Gurl that they are of ghetto origin. Jeff is the voice of reason!

  29. Gurl Says:

It’s always the same OLD tired ass fairweathers inputting there hissy-fit tantrums on the fabulous Mariah Carey! Get over it!

‘Oh I’ve grown up and now I have this really BIG opinion on Mariah Carey!’ Really, really, really?!? I guess…

If Mariah is not your shining armor or cup of tea anymore, just let her go and walk away. It’s as simple as that.

  30. bei Says:

Gurl, the more you comment, the more you further the stereotype that MC lambs are a bunch of delusional ass-kissing p*ssies. For God’s sake please try to sound half-intelligent (same goes for you Rude Boy) and stop randomly throwing words like “fairweather fans” around. Fairweather fans don’t visit Mariah Carey fansites on a regular basis, let alone comment on them.

It’s like you’re hoping Mariah notices you and gives you a star sticker or something you f*cking teacher’s pet.

  31. Gurl Says:

Haha, you expect Mariah to notice me. Trust me Bei, i’m not looking for an award or something. I’m just stanning for my favorite artist that is all. Whether it be the non-fans or hating Lambs.

And intelligence my ass, quit tryin’ to use big words to further your replies. Okay ass-wipe!

  32. Rude Boy Says:

Bei, Jeff, Ana, Joe.. you got the perfect score of negativity in this site. If you go back to all the old posts, you will see that all of your comments are all negative not a single one is positive. I guess it’s time for you to evaluate yourselves. Maybe you have a common mother who conceived you out of negativity. There’s a saying that people who always induce negativity in anything are losers themselves but people who have the positive disposition are usually secure individuals. That’s all!

  33. bei Says:

Wow, did you really go back and read all of our old posts to come up with that evaluation? That’s sad man. I’m guessing you want a sticker too.

  34. bei Says:

By the way Rude Boy, some of us don’t feel the need to pat Mariah on the back everytime she does something good. Just cause you feel the need to prove to the world how you’re such a good lamb doesn’t mean everyone else has to.

Anyway this site is a joke, there’s a reason no one’s posted here in AGES at a time when the comment section should be flooded with comments, and the reason is people like you and Gurl.

  35. Rude Boy Says:

Bei, on the contrary, some fans no longer post here beause of people like you. All I know is negativity is tiring whereas positivity is encouraging. WHich one is the reason why some fans dont post comments here anymore? Huh? Ask yourself. This is a Mariah fan site not a critic site. If you want to post your useless critics, go to another site. Got it?

  36. adam Says:

I’m a fan of Mariah’s for 20 years and i agree people should have the right to voice there opinions i dont like all of Mariah’s tracks like i don’t other artists to, people should realize its not negative to have a opinion even if they dont agree
