Mariah Carey plans Rabat show

Yalla Finance: Pop superstar Mariah Carey is expected in Rabat, Morocco to close the 11th edition of the Mawazine Rhythms of the World festival. This famous American diva with over 175 million albums sold worldwide, will sing in front of the Moroccan public on the stage of the OLM Souissi from 22:00, Saturday, May 26, 2012.
Mawazine, whose 11th edition is scheduled for May 18 to 26, 2012 in Rabat, has become a cultural showcase of Morocco to the world. Several internationally-renowned artists are expected to attend the one week festival in a quite rare occasion for Morocco.
Aufait Maroc reports that Mariah Carey will be performing “one or two songs” from her new album!

I also read over at mariahdaily that she is going to premiere two new songs!! That means we can expect a new single early summer late spring!

I don’t get it. If she premieres one or two tracks from the new album, they’ll be on youtube (youtube) in no time. So how will they be new and feel fresh by the time they officially come out in spring or summer?

Mariah’s team forever stays getting promo ALL wrong. Why debut a track or two that will be on Youtube and pirated within hours?

Mariah needs to work with Tom Morales again, and release the work as a single, not a dance remix like what she did in the past. After all, dance is ‘in’ now. And people forget that Mariah used to have huge dance-hits, albeit all remixes of her pop songs. Since David Guetta is now accepted in the mainstream, I don’t see why Tom Morales would fail. It’s really up to Mariah to take the risk. She needs to surprise everyone with the first single – else it is back to Memoirs-esque days.

Maybe you meant David Morales? he`s good, but the thing I like the most of his Mariah remixes, is that she records new vocals and some new lyrics, so we basically get a new single. His sound can be a little repetitive, though.

@Juan Antonio Yes that’s right! David Morales! I think he has done some pretty interesting stuffs and I guess it should be able to capture audience attention. At least as a first single. No more mid-tempo/R&B/pop sound as a first single for Mariah. It’s gonna be repetitive. She needs a different lead single to make people notice her again. And she could follow that up with an urban club-oriented dance track if she wants to, and then a third single that showcases her soaring vocals – preferably a soul ballad.

I like how MCC has talked about going back to her roots for this new record. Having “dem babies” certainly inspired her and I can’t wait to hear soaring vocals of “so blessed” or my pers fav “forever”styled themes…even though “angels cry” should have been her 19th no. 1 in my opinion.
I think this dance gaga/rhianna/katyperry craze needs to end and it has shown signs: enter Adele, all about the voice and a piano accompaniment. Mariah is the queen of this sound. The first single needs to be unique, uptempo like her fun dreamlover fantasy honey heartbreaker mix flow..then follows up with a killer ballad that isn’t a repeat of “we belong together”…(cooing in background ie;stay in love). This album needs to be huge for her with 4-5 hit singles, includ some new #1′s. Only Mariah can do this! Song of the summer is Mariah’s new single! Come on lambs, back me up!
