I pre-ordered the album. I was a kid when the original version came out but I remember hearing it and loving Foreigner’s song and it remains one of my all-time favorite power ballads. I hope the song can at least get Top 20 on iTunes by Friday.

I hope the release is not too soon, i think that Obsessed could have been a number one just by releasing it a few weeks later (with bigger airplay).After all Mariah needs two more #1′s to touch the Beatles’ record of 20 number one hits. Maybe Oprah’s show will bring a miracle (and 300.000 downloads)……….

Mazi, #1 hits are great but I said I don’t care if she ever breaks the record but a 19th or 20th sure would be nice but let’s not obsess over her doing so, let #1 hits come when we least expect them to. I want the best for MC always but sometimes fans get disapppointed at every turn when a song doesn’t go to #1 and it is not all just about that. I mean look at Aretha. She’s only had 2 #1 hits and her status as an icon and legend are not diminished in the least.

Number ones are great but I would be perfectly happy with longevity and big album sales for MOAIA. Overall success is the best treasure.

Jason, that’s the point I was trying to make. I don’t blame people for wanting #1 hits but overall album longevity is key for me and if we get a #1 hit that’s just icing on the cake. Lambs go full force!

If MC will have another #1 hit from this album, it would be much better and at the same time a big album sales. Just like “The Emancipation of Mimi” that scored her last 2#1 singles and yet the album has a tremendous success as well. I think MC fans just want this to happen again or even surpass the record that TEOM had achieved. We only want the best for Mimi. Right people?

I just want her to be seen for who she really is; An amazing music artist/ entrepenuer. The media have been great this year recognising this. I also hope she gets huge album sales, the 1#s will follow as a bonus

Rumor is the album is gonna leak tonight. Hope it’s not true. Do you think Clive Davis is trying to sabotage MC? I just watched Oprah and they sure played up that she is THE VOICE and Christina Aguilera was sooo fake saying Whitney has always been her inspiration. What aliar! She said Mariah was her inspiration but I guess she is mad at MC.

I wonder how much her album will shift in the first week! Without Comparing, (at all) Whitney Houston’s sold well over 250k in the first week and her album leaked weeks before the release date! some songs a year before! So if it leaks early it will suck for news but There’s still hope for great sales

Great news. Ugh. Why is Leona Lewis’ “Happy” ahead of Mariah’s “I Want To Know What Love Is” on iTunes. I don’t see what the fuss is over her anyway. Dammit. I was hoping Leona wouldn’t outdo MC on iTunes.

I think IDJ wants to prove that Mariah doesn’t need to delay her downloads in order to hit #1 (as in the case of Touch My Body). They want her to get her #1s the old-fashioned way – increasing sales and airplay together, just like how Vision of Love climbed to the summit in 1990. :-p

I think the release of “I Want To Know What Love Is” is a testament to see how the sales will vary in the beginning, So that they may change the single. Well that’s what I hope. Because as much as I love Mariah, I don’t see how “I Want To Know What Love Is” will succeed. I just hope at this point Mariah and her management know what they are doing. Because achieving a number one song today is a lot different then it was back in the day.

Well she did it the “old fashioned” way with We Belong Together and Don’t Forget About Us remember?
I believe it will happen. And I think the next two #1 singles are crucial. Critics will jump and say that Mariah’s #1 was manufactured if IDJ just holds back and release the single at the peak of its airplay. I think IDJ probably has the faith in Mariah.
And we should all have faith in her too! Look at Obsessed- it has already cracked Top Ten even though the initial airplay figures weren’t fantastic. I Want To Know What Love Is will have the old fans coming back to download the single in a couple of weeks’ time so let’s wait and see!

Well Mariah may not be in her 20′s anymore but she can still outsell all these “wannabe” young singers. “Touch my body”, which hit #1 is just about a year ago and I agree with “Obsessed Fan” that her last 3 #1 hits were promoted in the old way and it worked.
Dont worrry, its been barely 2 days after the adds and 1 day after Itunes and it has already this figures, its wonderful. Look at “Obsessed”, after about 9 weeks it cracked the Top 10.
So people, we have a long way to go!!
