I hope that by studio they mean a new 10,000 sq ft studio apartment that she may have purchased where she and Nick are trying to make a baby …

  2. Mariah on fiyah Says:

    ^LMAO!

  3. Bob Smith Says:

    LOL

  4. B Rad Says:

Yes, I am a Lamb but a new studio album so soon is just NOT a good idea, IMO. She needs to stop making albums just for the hell of it. Quality is SO much more important than quantity right now. If she releases something else this year, she will look DESPERATE for attention. PLEASE MC TAKE A BREAK. ENJOY LIFE, YOUR HUSBAND, AND USE THIS TIME TO START A FAMILY. She needs to work on imaging, put some life back into live performing, exercise her voice to get it in the best shape possible, and THEN come back stronger than ever. The last thing she needs is another flop album.

  5. obsessed fan Says:

IDJ is so insincere. Damn damn damn. Its like, they don’t even care about Mariah! It makes my blood boil.

  6. Marc Says:

    LEAVE IDJ Mariah immediately!

  7. Jeff Says:

A NEW ALBUM IS NOT THE ANSWER, MARIAH IS BECOMING A WORKAHOLIC AGAIN,
A NEW FILM WIHT TYLER PERRY AND NOW BACK TO THE STUDIO?

SHE NEEDS TO FOCUS ON ACTING BECAUSE I SMELL OSCAR NODS IN HER FUTURE, AND THEN HAVE A BABY, AND IN 3 YEARS THE RETURN OF THE SONGBIRD!

MARIAH AT 43 OR 42 COMES BACK AND KILLS IT, STILL LOOKING GREAT LIKE SHE ALWAYS DOES.

While I think that all true fans will stay fans, I do feel that MC has slightly ‘exhausted’ that base … e=mc2 and MOAIA’s lack of promo, promises for a remix album, possible upcoming album, etc … no one wants to continue to see their favorite artist continue down a mediocre path. I think that all fans a like can agree on several things. While MC will do what she (or others around her) think she should do, here is my honest opinion, as a complete outsider to her incircle, of what I think should happen if she is planning to be in it for the long run (ala Aretha, Barbra Streisand, Cher, Tina, etc) …

    a) she needs some time off. Why: 1) people need to stop seeing her and “miss” her in the tabloids 2) she is not producing/writing anything that is relevant to pop culture 2010 (we all love MOAIA but its obvious that not everyone did)

b)she needs to enjoy a bit of life and take care of herself physically Why: 1) again, her music needs to be reinvented and become more relevant … perhaps she should take some time to really look deep and perhaps (as she’s done before) reinvent the wheel herself 2) while her voice was great on tour (like not kid ourselves that many parts were lipped … Emotions whistle notes, part of ABMB high notes, etc) she needs some vocal rest yet again and write music that fits her voice today and not 10 years ago

    c) she needs to work on image … Why: 1) POP music followers (and perhaps even r&b in 2010) can’t relate to her. I think we would love for her to look as great (body wise) as she did during e=mc2 days, but besides that, she needs to be a bit more serious (EOM days where her interviews were relevant), drop the 5th grade language, and chill with the ghetto talk and old-lady laugh (I hope someone knows what I mean where she sounds like an old lady smoking lol) … what happen to the MC who spoke normal from 1990-2005? 2) People are over her ‘iternally 12 shit.’ Last time I checked, it wasn’t a big deal to turn 40. I mean, when you’ve been around for 20+ years, are you basically telling your orginal fans that they old and irrelevant and that they should feel like they are 12 and not enjoy the fact that they are 40?! We obsess so much about this in the U.S. (in a bad way) and it really hurts her internationally where people don’t constantly obsess stupidly about age …

    Cheers!

  9. klos Says:

she should focus just in one thing… First in the movie… then come back with an amazing album… and I hope with a NEW LABEL… IDJ Sucks… maybe this way her voice can take a rest… no singing for 1 year…

  10. Jeff Says:

I REALLY DONT BELIEVE MARIAH SHOULD TAKE A YEAR OFF OR EVEN 2,
BY 2013 THE WORLD WILL BE HUNGRY FOR MARIAH,

The Public Needs to miss her just like they did when E=MC2 was gonna be released.

  11. Mariah on fiyah Says:

    Im bored!
I want somethin new from Mariah, now.

    leak a remix
    new pics
    new songs

just something. Im SO bored lol

  12. Kevin Says:

    1) release the angels advocate tracks on her website as a gift to the fans!

    2) no singing. PERIOD.

    3) Sing impromptu in interviews (simple la la la’s! sound awesome and take ppl by surprise, I LOVE when she does that.

4 DO TV PERFORMANCES. All she does is night shows….what about the Grammys? What about the VMA’s? What about the AMA’s? What about the Kids’ Choice Awards? What about the Teen Choice Awards?

  13. Kimberley Says:

I am bit upset about the C.D being cancelled I was looking forward… I agree with what someone said..release the tracks on honeybfly/website for the lambs :) :):)

I think she should do a Christmas album for this year and then have a break for a while like a year or to, enjoy life with Nick and work on having a baby before it’s too late. A Christmas album will be the right thing I know it.

  14. joe Says:

I do NOT want a new Christmas album to take the focus and sales away from the 1994 classic. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

I love MC but she doesn’t need to crank out another Christmas disc.

  15. Mariah on fiyah Says:

Im torn when it comes to the Christmas disc.
As long as it is good (vocals, music) then im fine. not that the 1994 classic can be surpassed

  16. Marc Says:

I dunno. I think some things just shouldn’t be touched and the 1994 release is such a classic that if she did a new one it would definitely pale in comparison.

I think AA might still get released to iTunes only because the wording of the half-assed press release seemingly suggested a possible internet release if you read between the lines.

  17. obsessed fan Says:

    @ Marc

    Half-assed press release STATEMENT. Roar.
I can’t believe IDJ is treating their superstar this way. I believe the sales of Charmbracelet, TEOM, E=MC2 and MOAIA are on par with Rihanna’s MOTS, AGLM, GGGB and RR. Why ain’t they giving Mariah the promotion she deserves?! :-(

  18. Chris Says:

I actually believe that a christmas album is the way to go. This way she can establish herself as a more mature person, plus it would help start with higher sales. Also, it doesnt even have to be an album, it can be a compilation or something. After all, her extraordinary career just made it through 20 long and amazing years. It’s a reason to celebrate. Maybe even a remix compilation like fantasy, i still believe, and we belong together, all who had awesome remixes plus it gives a reason to include the memoirs remixes.

  19. RJJ12 Says:

Looks like I need to comment here:

1.First off-NO to a Christmas album. She will whisper half the damn time and and a create a half ass CD. I would only be excited about this if she actually put some vocals that rivaled her 94 Christmas CD and if she worked with Walter again on it.

2.Thank goodness she cancalled the release, she nor her label were promoting it at all. She had no passion behind it and it was becoming a watered down version of the original idea. A cut and paste treatment. What happened to new vocals and a total new treatment to the song.

3.So she stopped promoting E=MC2 once the album was released and it had plenty of #1′s, still made that ISIL never got any promo, it had #1 written all over it and she also didn’t start promoting MOAIA until the week it was released and then vanished again. It also had some potential #1s but she obviously didn’t care to promote that and pranced all over town promoting Precious knowing she can’t be two places at once.

4.People says she needs a new sound. I say its not as important for her to either do r&b, pop, or both, what’s important is that she sings the hell out of song and that she releases quality material. People forget that Obsessed went #7 with no promo and went platinum while her album struggles to go gold. She hasn’t had a great vocal performance in years whether on an album or live. The formula is simple: promo, great songs, and vocals. If either of that is missing and a flop will occcur. She needs an image makeover. She looked desperate at the Oscars pulling her dress up every 5 seconds to show the “rarity.” She isn’t respected and that’s because she fosters people’s perception of her as a bimbo instead of an intelligent musical genius that she has proven to be.

    5. Why not take a break now, do movies, have a baby, enjoy your married life. Don’t rush into a studio and give us a rush job of a project that you dont have any passion to promote. Don’t decide to take a break to enjoy your personal life when you just released a CD and second single (E=MC2/ByeBye) and decide not to promote quality songs like I’ll Be loving You Long Time and I Stay In Love which were guaranteed #1s.

6.Why isn’t your label promoting your CD. The cost of the project was covered by all those adds in your album insert so where did the money go for promo???? Things that make you go hmmmmm.

That is all for now, I’m sure I’ll get some hate message by a Stan (sitting patiently by my computer).

  20. Mariah on fiyah Says:

I actually agree on most of your points RJJ12, they are all valid as far as I’m concerned.
Does her contract require MORE albums with IDJ by the way?

  21. Marc Says:

    Mariah on fiyah,

As stipulated by her contract with IDJ in 2002, Mariah signed a 3 album deal with an option for a 4th but the issue is we do not know if she re-signed with IDJ because it obviously seems Memoirs constitutes that 4th option album. So we do not know if she signed anything to re-up her deal since no press release was made public.

  22. B Rad Says:

I could’ve sworn that when Touch My Body came out in 08, that a release or something was sent out saying that either she signed a new deal or extended the one that she had. Anyone else remember??

  23. B Rad Says:

    @ RJJ12,

I love MC too but I was a bit annoyed when she kept raising her dress, sticking her leg out, and making sure the camera saw the slit in her dress…. That is why people consider her a joke. Whether she was trying to be funny or what, it just didn’t come off good.

  24. sami Says:

IF she is to put out a new album she better do it before Justin Timberlake does because the music world is going to be all over his new project.

  25. B Rad Says:

Justin Timberlake would be another good person for her to collaborate with, along with Alicia Keys, John Legend, MJB, Red One, etc.

  26. obsessed fan Says:

Pls dun release another album so soon. I really hope she doesn’t! Just concentrate on making movies for the time being, and babies. Then come back with a really strong album that’d catapult her to the top of the heap again. The resurgence of MCC!

  27. Marc Says:

    B Rad,

Mariah already collaborated with Justin Timberlake back in 2003 on a remix to “Yours” from Charmbracelet but his label Jive didn’t want it released since she wasn’t “hot” then.

  28. jhjay Says:

dont rush it mc ur voice is real strained in MOIA like you pushed to sing even if your cord is exhausted. rest!!!! and come back 3 years later that way people will miss you. and comeback with a good album
