THERE are always rich pickings whenever the diarist’s gift that is Mariah Carey decides to give a round of interviews.

By way of illustration, we enjoyed this gem from the new edition of Allure magazine: “I don’t know why everyone thinks I lost 30lb. This trainer has actually helped me reshape my arms.”

Uh-huh. That was topped, though, by this one from Parade magazine: “You don’t know who is here for the glamour, for the gossip factor.

“You really just want to know that somebody loves you for you. Sometimes you feel like an ATM machine with a wig on it.”

Come to think of it, we think we could learn to love an ATM with a wig on it, provided it was reasonably well stacked, sorry, stocked.
