Nick Cannon: ‘American Idol Can’t Afford Mariah Carey’

MARIAH CAREY’s husband NICK CANNON is convinced AMERICAN IDOL bosses will have to double the money they paid JENNIFER LOPEZ if they want the superstar singer to join the TV show.
Idol bosses are currently looking for replacement panellists following the departure of Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, who confirmed her exit on Friday (13Jul12) after two seasons as a judge.
Carey is rumoured to be in talks to take over from Lopez, but her husband insists TV bosses will have to double Lopez’s rumoured £12.5 million salary if they want to get Carey on board.
Cannon tells TMZ.com, “I don’t know if they can afford Mariah Carey. That’s a lot of money. If they gave JLo $20 million, they might have to double that!… You never know, it’s one of things, she’s got an album coming out so there’s promotional stuff…”
When asked whether talks are taking place, Cannon replies coyly, “Everybody wanna (sic) talk to her.”

Mariah’s net worth is to be $500mil., J.Lo around $110 mil.
Everything others(anyone after 1990, and now post 2000 MDNA included) have done, Mariah did it FIRST, Mariah did it BEST, so…
AI shouldn’t double the money, they should give her a planet, part of the universe or something

JLO is actually worth over 200 Million. a lot of her money came from her empire. actually JLO actually made more money in a year then Mariah. JLO had a big empire with her clothing,perfume and movies and her commercials.
Nick doesn’t do MC any favors, this just made everyone mad and talk bad about Mariah. How she’s conceited and a narccastics(s/p) lol.
He should of just said Mariah is to busy to do a tv show right now.

I agree with Nick and watch the video he was joking and made sure he doesnt speak for MC or make her decisions. But he does have a right to an opion just like all the fans and haters and haters stay hating anyway. If there ever was a deal on the table it would have to be huge. Idol and Xfactor just continues to use MC’s name for press, cause they know they cant afford Diva Carey. Nick has a right to state the obvious.
