Natasha Bedingfield may be selling out seats with her tour buddies New Kids on the Block, but she couldn’t contain her excitement about her upcoming performance with fellow singers Mariah Carey and Beyoncé Knowles.

“I’m so giddy,” the British pop star told PEOPLE at the Fashion Rocks pre-party in New York, just after she had finished rehearsing the song for Stand Up to Cancer.

Bedingfield, who recorded the charity tune, “Just Stand Up” with Beyoncé, Mariah, Fergie, Mary J. Blige and 10 other pop vocalists, also admitted that she was expecting more diva attitudes from her collaborators.

“I thought maybe there’d be some fireworks, but actually everyone is just so motivated by the cause. They were all just so obliging and nice,” she said. “It’s actually really nice to hang out with girls in the same career.”

The Stand Up to Cancer telecast airs Friday night.
