Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey certainly know how to keep it hot when they are alone. And, as it turns out, when these two plan out a Valentine’s Day they also know how to make it memorable. The only problem is: how they will they ever follow up last year’s scorcher?

“Last Valentine’s Day my wife and I …it was our first Valentine’s Day, so we were trying to outdo each other,” Nick told MTV News. “We were in a hotel room and I decided we were going to fill it up with balloons and all this fun tissue paper and stuff and she had the same idea.”

He recalled that although they had similar thought processes, it turns out that both of their decorations led to quite a mess in the hotel room. “So her balloons had a light show and [there were’ candles everywhere, so I guess our two ideas didn’t mesh together well,” he continued. “So you walk into this room and all you see is red and lights and candles. We were opening gifts and I smell smoke… the whole room was on fire and I screamed like a little b****. Mariah, being a hero that she is, put the fire out. She’s my hero. She’s my valentine hero, so hopefully this year we won’t set nothing on fire.”
