Is UOMF and AC gonna be released to iTunes on 16th Feb..? I certainly hope not bcos that is FAR TOO SOON!!! UOMF needs to be released to mainstream radio first for two-four weeks before its digital release!!! I hope IDJ remembers what happened to Obsessed.

@ Obsessed Fan
Some of you guys expect wayy to much, Obsessed was a hit and still is selling in downloads, and just becuz it did not go to number one does not mean IDJ screwed up, it was all a matter of promotion, mariah only sang the song live in AGT during the summer, I think that obsessed was released to Itunes perfect time, cuz look it even debuted at number 11 on the hot 100 and eventually peaked at number 7 which is a big accomplished due to the fact the Hater said it was going to flop.

@MC
I am sorry but I think I am expecting the best promotional strategies that befits Mariah! It makes no sense to release a song digitially on the same day the song impacts mainstream radio. Mariah has fans who are up to date with all these release dates etc, and they will rush to download the single when it’s released. However there are also fans who do not pay so much attention to release dates and even radio etc – they will buy the single when they hear it. That’s why it makes more sense to release the single digitally a couple of weeks after the single makes its round on mainstream radio. And IDJ hasn’t been trying hard enough to promote the singles – or have they? Other than music videos on Vevo, what else have they done? I just hope they put in place great ideas and concepts to reignite public interest in Mariah’s music.
Also, I never said anything about Obsessed being a flop. I just felt that it could have done better. Obsessed had been released to radios 3 weeks prior to its digital release. It had not even, by then, debut onto the Hot 100. Airplay was nowhere near good in other words. No doubt it debuted the following week at #11, but bear in mind also it could have been higher if the single release had been delayed for another couple of weeks. Don’t forget how Obsessed nearly fizzled out by hanging on to the cursed #11 for 4 weeks before finally ascending the top ten. IDJ could have helped her earn a top ten debut, and a higher peak position than Obsessed. But they failed.

I totally agree, from the beginning i have thought that if Obsessed would have been released for downloading a few weeks later it would have been a number one for sure. At the time it was released the song was not as widely known as is should have been.

but nothing has happened? and it looks like the same mistake is going 2 b made wit AC and UOMF.

The UK better get a proper release now cuz the messed up with obsessed in the UK tht song could of Been HUGE!! But it wasn’t cuz of the label abd promotion.
