Mariah’s new music video for “Up Out My Face” (featuring Nicki Minaj) continues to do well on the internet and now on TV! After being mentioned on EW’s “Must” list and being one of the most watched videos on YouTube, the video takes the #1 spot on BET’s 106 & Park video countdown.

A GOOD live performance would greatly help the song get more exposure, IMO. Everybody doesn’t watch 106 & Park. As soon as the tour ends, she needs to get on tv and promote these two songs. Ellen Degeneres, Tyra, Monique, Tonight Show, etc. I would advise her not to wait until album release week to start promo. These days, you have to get out there as soon as the song is released and perform it for people. Don’t get me wrong, the song is doing good considering that her last 2 flopped but she’s gonna have to put in work for these to be hits.

Lastly, I think that it would have been a great idea for her to at least call in to 106&Park and let everybody know that the song/video is now available. I know she’s on tour and vocal rest, but a 5 minute phone interview shouldn’t make or break her voice. But, that’s my opinion. Im not her manager but that’s just how I feel.

I just don’t think Mariah cares about charting high as much as she once probably did. I think she feels like she’s done it all, so now it’s time to have fun and enjoy herself.

what mariah needs to do is promote this song and like B.Rad said go on shows and do a live performance, no offense but just becuz shes mariah carey it does not mean the she does not need to promote , the song could be a hit, is all in Mariahs hand as well as IDJ on how they promote these 2 singles. she only has 5 more dates to her tour, she could start the promo train by now.

I hope 100% will do well along with Angels Cry, these are the kind of songs i prefer to hear from Mariah, but it’s great to see UOMF at #1 anyway.

I actually prefer Mariah’s ballads to her uptempo songs by a margin of 3 to 1, so to speak, but I understand the industry has moved away from ballads on radio, so I will enjoy them anyway. I also tend to believe Mariah isn’t going to work as hard on the promo circuit as she did prior to 2001, but that by no means is indicative that she is lazy, not in the least. I just think Mariah wants to enjoy her personal life first and career second. She said on Oprah back in 2002 that she would no longer put career ahead of her personal life and perhaps some fans didn’t believe her.

AC was #4 on the box top 10 in the U.K and Ireland today. i was delighted to see it and all my friends are talking bout how gud a song it is. a good sign for this side of the Atlantic at least.

I suspect ballads are still popular in other parts of the world, just not the USA right now, since dance/pop is the leading trend now.
