Congratulations MIMI — Perhaps all the IDIOTS henceforth called DJ’S who work at radio will get the message. POP RADIO — PLAY THE SONG. It’s obvios that MC still can recapture the magic whenever she wants too.
February 23rd, 2010 at 7:23 am
I think we really have to work on getting Angels Cry on the 106 & Park countdown now espcesially since the song is available for purchase now.
Spread the word! Vote AC on BET!
February 23rd, 2010 at 7:33 am
I know in my heart that UOMF has a shot if they just play the damm song. I would love for UOMF to explode and for the “semi” lambs to get back in to Mariah sending AC up the charts as well. Than send 100% to radio. At this point, I would just love to see all the DJ’s who don’t like MC squirming b/c everyone is requesting her. That’s what they fear b/c they KNOW FOR A FACT that people come scrambling back to MIMI when she has a stone groove HIT.
February 23rd, 2010 at 7:41 am
Jason, a # 1 video on Bet is wonderful but I highly doubt it will influence pop radios to play the song. We must begin to request video at MTV who had a younger and more pop oriented audience and plenty more viewers!! that and streaming at yahoo and/or aol will help the song to debut on hot 100. I’m expecting a high entry at bubbling under hot 100, though!!

MARIAH CAREY Feat Nicki Minaj – Up Out My Face: 8.351 M (+ 0.125)
February 23rd, 2010 at 7:57 am
@JuanAntonio,
I hear you. Sometimes I just ramble because I get frustrated with POP radio. For example, all the POP stations play BEP all the time. It just urks me to no end
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:23 am
Jason,
I understand and share your feelings. But POP radio with a few exceptions (mostly singles from TEOM) has showed lack of support for mariah since 1997. What is shocking me the most with UOMF is that Mariah most loyal format in the last years (rythmic) is not playing the song like they should. UOMF it’s still under top 40 with 3 millions impressions, UOMF main format is Urban.
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:33 am
I thought UOMF was being sent to Pop stations today. Was I wrong?
Pop stations are so safe and boring these days, I doubt they’ll play it anyway…..hope I’m wrong.
Keep requesting at BET and radio everyone!
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:53 am
Question everyone ??? Seeking Opinions
POP was actually kind to Mariah with Obsessed so in the long haul do you think they’ll support UOMF??? Or AC for that matter (especially if UOMF takes off)???
So oh oh oh oh so oh oh oh oh —
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:57 am
Yeah guys, POP radio actually embraced “Obsessed” really well! It went to the top 10 on POP which is pretty damn good considering how crappy the label handled the release of that song. That song could have been soooo much bigger if they released it to all radio formats at the same time, but the lapse in time between the release dates kinda hindered it.
I’m a little confused as to why Def Jam hasn’t begun pushing the track to POP radio yet either. It’s starting to rebound nicely on Rhythmic and it’s top 25 on Urban so they really need to get it together and send it out to POP because that’s the format that’s gonna purchase the digital single. And if they’re not gonna release it to POP radio they need to release “100%” to pop radio then because there needs to be some kind of POP presense before the album gets released!
February 23rd, 2010 at 9:11 am
Sadly, I expect Angels Advocate to sell about 40,000 its first week. I also think radio really is doing this to Mariah on purpose because they are scared she’ll score another #1 hit. I really do believe it is The Beatles thing.
February 23rd, 2010 at 9:25 am
Obsessed was played on POP radios after being successful on both urban and rythmic formats, by the time it was top 20 on pop radios it was already losing spins/impressions in the other formats…
February 23rd, 2010 at 9:31 am
UOMF has rebounded to #92. i predict when it and AC do explode at radio they will both rocket on itunes!!
February 23rd, 2010 at 9:36 am
Good news!! thanks Ryan!!
February 23rd, 2010 at 9:44 am
i still see it at #112
February 23rd, 2010 at 9:53 am
I see 92 for song downloads, and 61 for video.
February 23rd, 2010 at 10:24 am
I know that MC is performing in California tonight and on MariahDaily, it says that UOMF is everywhere. Is it getting alot of airplay in California??? If so — she should have it on the setlist — Just my opinion.
February 23rd, 2010 at 10:46 am
Now Let’s focus our votes on AC. It’d be great if she has 2 vids Bet’s top 10!
February 23rd, 2010 at 11:02 am
I applaud the BET video countdown but what she really needs is exposure on MTV and VH1. POP is where it’s at! The songs won’t do much with POP support.
February 23rd, 2010 at 11:04 am
I mean without POP there is only so much that can be done. Look at the Top 20 songs on the Hot 100 and you will see most are huge at POP radio. BET has always shown her love so we applaud them.
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:21 pm
Just a question, do the video downloads will count for the song itself and will help it on BB 100?
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:25 pm
@ Mariah Male fan
no, unless us stream video which counts toward helping it chart on the hot 100, but aside from that downloading the video does not count towards the song itself?
HOWS ANGELS CRY DOING ON ITUNES?
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:33 pm
Angels Cry is currently at #179 on itunes.
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:34 pm
YOU GUYS KNOW WHATS SAD? THAT ASIDE FROM 3 SONGS ON THE ITUNES TOP 10
ALL THE REST ARE BULLSHIT.
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:35 pm
Sorry #173 just now
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:47 pm
Yeah video downloads do not count towards the Hot 100 but I think Billboard should change that policy to reflect sales at all levels. I am not sure what strategy IDJ was thinking of by giving free video downloads of UOMF remix because it sent its position plunging into freefall when they did so.
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:50 pm
I think the main problem here is overkill, 10 album releases in the last 10 years (Glitter, Greatest Hits, Charmbracelet, Remixes, TEOM, E=MC², Ballads, MOAIA, Playlist and AA) is just way too much!
A new Mariah album is just not a special event, except for the fans and even many of them think Mariah should take a break for a few years. I think Mariah should go for quality instead of quantity (eventhough i realise that she can’t help the Sony releases, but still…..)
February 23rd, 2010 at 12:58 pm
Ben,
I have commented that I think Mariah should take a page from Sade and be absent for about 5 years and then put out a track but fans won’t let her do that. I think Angels Advocate should be the last album until 2015. I agree that her albums are no longer “the event” in that regard. Let the fans miss you!
February 23rd, 2010 at 2:03 pm
Oh no please, 5 year’s without Mariah?! NOOOOOOOOO
February 23rd, 2010 at 3:01 pm
5 years??? Jesus Christ! That’s a whole lot of time. : (
She could take 2 or 2,5 years off, adopt a kid, rest her voice and find her creativity again. Write stuff from the heart.
February 23rd, 2010 at 4:22 pm
Holy Moly — Dear GOD
I just can’t imagine 5 years — Talk about Languishing — If she has a baby, I can probably suffer and go for 3 years just b/c I would be so happy for her but I couldn’t stand another minute LOL
February 23rd, 2010 at 4:27 pm
Ben, if that sad label called IDJ would make their job every Mariah album would be an event, she can take a rest of 20 years and still return with a flop album. I don’t know from where came the idea that taking long breaks between albums it’s a success warranty
February 23rd, 2010 at 4:47 pm
IDJ CANNOT TAKE ALL THE BLAME
BLAME IDJ FOR NOT HANDLIN THE PROMO AND THE SINGLES RIGHT AND FOR L.A REID MAKING STUPID DECISIONS ON SINGLES RELEASED.
BLAME MARIAH FOR LACK OF PROMO AND FOR LETTING BAD VIDEOS BEING RELEASED AND FOR TALKING ABOUT NICK IN INTERVIEWS WERE SHE WAS SUPPOSE TO PROMOTE H.A.T.E U AND IWKWLI.
February 23rd, 2010 at 4:49 pm
AND ALSO IS FEBRUARY 23RD, 4 MORE WEEKS TILL THE ALBUM DROPS AND STILL NO LIVE PERFORMANCE OR EVEN AN ANOUNCEMENT OF A UP AND COMING PERFORMANCE.
THERES ONLY 3 MORE SHOWS LEFT.
February 23rd, 2010 at 4:55 pm
Actually Sade takes long breaks in between albums and has had success each time. I know they are different genres but if Sade can take 8, 10 years in between her last two albums, it’s not so bizarre that Mariah could do a 5 year break.
February 23rd, 2010 at 5:08 pm
@ Marc
ok we get it sade is selling big deal, stop using her as an example because this is a mariah forum, her and sade are two different artist.
if mariah wants to take a break thats her decision.
February 23rd, 2010 at 5:09 pm
I think a 3 year break is just nice. 5 years is a little too long. Mariah needs to stop working so hard.
She could have pushed for more singles to be released from E=MC2, honestly. Rather than halt after ISIL din take off. There are still singles waiting to be heard from that album i.e. Side Effects and Migrate and For The Record. I wonder why she insisted on recording a new album so soon! E=MC2 era could have been better managed.
Alright I know I am sounding bitter. I shouldn’t be. I hope UOMF will do well at POP!!! And Rhythmic too!!!
a top ten across all the formats would be nice, and would (almost) guarantee her a 28th top ten hit on the BB Hot 100!!
February 23rd, 2010 at 5:32 pm
now the video is #2 ON BET COUNTDOWS SO PLEASE KEEP VOTING
February 23rd, 2010 at 5:33 pm
Jeff,
I was not trying to annoy. Let’s not take out our frustration on each other. I am here to support Mariah I was only giving an example.
February 23rd, 2010 at 5:40 pm
Let’s not rip into each other. I don’t think anyone is out to attack the other person. We are all just frustrated that our girl is getting overlooked with hot singles.
February 23rd, 2010 at 6:43 pm
#126 UOMF
#163 AC
Yeah i also think 5 years is too much. As much as i love MC, i think people will forget about her in 5 years. Maybe IDJ knows that and have her releasing new material often. 3 years is perfect.
February 23rd, 2010 at 7:04 pm
Blame Mariah for lack of promo and for letting bad videos being released? you don’t have even the slightest idea on how companies or big corporations work, lamby! IDJ can choose the song they want as a single (as they have done) release a video whenever they want (as they have done too) and Mariah can’t do anything about it. The same goes for every artist unless you’re the owner of the record label, hahaha.
It seems like you, as some people around the net have the romantic idea that Mariah has the power to say, “hey I want to promote my single today, Letterman I’m going to your show tomorrow to sing my newest single, prepare everything” hahaha… there’s a marketing department at IDJ (or supposed to be at least) that has the purpose to sell or at least promote their music properly and they have done a terrible job over the years. With MOAIA they messed up everything since the beginning, delaying album release, bad single choices, weird album cover, late video releases and let’s not forget how a single (even the album) is released weeks or months later depending of the country.
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:05 pm
Just a question. Do u guys idj is trying to promote rude boy by Rihanna more right Now and get back to uomf later
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:12 pm
OK. A 3 year break would be good. So after Angels Advocate a new Mariah album in 2013.
February 23rd, 2010 at 8:39 pm
E=MC2 was 3 years after TEOM. It’s still not a long enough break. she needs to go away for at least 4 years!
February 23rd, 2010 at 9:53 pm
UOMF #2 on BET. Don’t let it start slipping yet!! Take a couple of minutes to vote!!
We can’t get discouraged yet, the songs were just released!! Lets
show people our loyalty!
February 24th, 2010 at 12:29 am

February 24th, 2010 at 6:33 am
MDJ has stated that when MC said goodbye after singing her encore “Hero” at her LA show, tears were in her eyes.. just wondering what were those tears for. I’m sad too!
February 24th, 2010 at 8:34 am
Dubai,
I too wondered the same thing!
February 24th, 2010 at 9:09 am
Is it because she is going on a long break? Or is she going to quit showbusiness altogether?!
I certainly hope not. I’m still waiting for a world tour to happen. Please, Mariah. Don’t!
February 24th, 2010 at 9:33 am
Did anybody see this at the end of the MTV review of the L.A. show:
A remixed version of Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, called Angels Advocate, was due in stores this month but pushed back to March. Carey mentioned during the show that it might be pushed back again.
February 24th, 2010 at 9:34 am
i highly doudt she is quitting forever. a break though i would imagine to have children.
February 24th, 2010 at 9:40 am
u guyz r sooo silly..OF COURSE SHE ISNT QUITTING SHOW BUSINESS!
anyways…she is multi-tasking right now cuz she just filmed an Oprah segment after the concert.
ive also read that Mariah said that the album might be pushed back AGAIN.
February 24th, 2010 at 9:48 am
Maybe that’s why she was in tears because the album might be pushed back again and she doesn’t want that to happen?
February 24th, 2010 at 9:54 am
I hate to say it but if AA is pushed back again it will most certainly flop. Why IDJ oh why? Something is seriously wrong at that label from the bottom up.
February 24th, 2010 at 10:11 am
OMG!!! WHAT are those IDJ people thinkin’ of?!!!!!!!
Sorry but this album will flop harder than MOAIA!!!:((((
February 24th, 2010 at 10:15 am
IDJ sucks, she should return to Sony. BTW, JLO is out of Sony, some say she left others she was fired BUT there’s rumours that IDJ could pick her up, time to move up Mariah, come on!
February 24th, 2010 at 10:43 am
Oprah segment??!!!
February 24th, 2010 at 10:45 am
IF AA IS PUSHED BACK AGAIN, IM PERSONALLY GOING TO SEND A LETTER WITH WORDS IM NOT GOING TO MENTION ON THIS WEBSITE WITH A FEW HOME TRUTHS TO A’REID. :@
I THINK WE COULD DO A BETTER JOB THAN HIM, INFACT, I NO WE COULD!
ABSOLOUTLEY RIDICULOUS. MARIAH THE MOMENT JLO WALKS IN YOU WALK OUT!
WALK OUT AS SOON AS YOU CAN, DNT LET THEM UPSET YOU, OR RUIN ANYMORE OF YOUR POTENTAILLY MAMMOTH HITS.
February 24th, 2010 at 10:48 am
So sad … this album is great… HATEU is a great song, Obsessed is a nice song, Up out my face is A great funny song,, Angels cry is a perfect ballad,,, and I just can’t belive What is happenig with those songs… there isn’t any hit… well just obssesed..
I guess she needs promo… when will the tour end?
February 24th, 2010 at 11:07 am
I just can’t believe what is transpiring at IDJ. Maybe she was in tears because she is leaving the label? Even though Beyonce is Queen at Sony I am sure they would welcome Mariah back.
February 24th, 2010 at 11:31 am
Well, Beyonce may be the current “it” girl at Sony, but she hasn’t achieved near the success Mariah had at her peak. I think they can handle 2 big divas, they did it with Celine and Mariah pretty well in the 90′s. Universal may be the # 1 record label but they don’t care about their artist. Really, Mariah should return to Sony.
February 24th, 2010 at 11:35 am
Hmm, there are 2 singles that were fan favorites and the album is being pushed back?? SMH… I dunno. I honestly thought that these 2 songs would have exploded by now. UOMF has one of the best videos that Mimi has done since TEOM videos. Im confused. The video is number 1 on BET and impressions are creeping slowly??…. Hmm, maybe she should’ve come out of the gate with a totally brand new song to ignite interest. What do you guys think? I can’t even know what to say…….
February 24th, 2010 at 11:57 am
I think it’s time for a brand new album….in three to five years.
I have a very strong feeling that AA will not be as succesfull as we all hope or expect. For me MOAIA didn’t need a new version (but i will buy it anyway), it’s still one of my fave Mariah albums and i will keep enjoying it for a long time. And the lower sales of this album, well whatever….
February 24th, 2010 at 11:57 am
Juan Antonio,
I agree. Is she leaves IDJ I’ll support regardless.
B Rad,
I am totally shocked too. This is all very weird.
February 24th, 2010 at 11:58 am
Ben,
You said it! The irony is that what if her lowest selling album finally does achieve real Grammy glory? That would be odd.
February 24th, 2010 at 12:12 pm
Well Marc, the album absolutely deserves it. Who knows?
February 24th, 2010 at 12:15 pm
Marc, that would be funny, but let’s remember they ignored Obsessed already. After all these years of continuous and ridiculous slaps in the face to Mariah I won’t have any expectations for the Grammys ever, Mariah doesn’t need them. Regarding sales, due to the bad music industry situation, everybody is getting their lowest selling albums nowadays, if we see it in a more detailed way, MOAIA is more successfull than Glitter and Charmbracelet.
February 24th, 2010 at 12:26 pm
Ben and Juan Antonio,
I know. I don’t have a high opinion of the Grammys but I was just posing a hypothetical. Everyone is having low sales unless you are a phenom like Susan Boyle or new artist like Gaga and the like.
February 24th, 2010 at 1:09 pm
I have just read The LA Times’ review on Mariah’s LA Show posted at MDJ.. I know its weird but I can feel some sadness in it..
February 24th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Dubai,
I see what you mean. The reviews praise Mariah for all that she has done in 20 years, but there is an element of melancholy in the writing. It’s as if they feel MC knows that the industry really has changed and she is questioning her place in its future as a contemporary legend.
February 24th, 2010 at 3:43 pm
I’m sitting reading these comments and crying my eyes out… from laughter!
You guys still believe that AA can be a success? It will tank for sure! If moaia didnt do well why on earth would a remixed version sell?
Anyways rumor has that Mariah is just starting work for her next studio album. IDJ execs ordered her and Rihanna to go back to the studio.
February 24th, 2010 at 4:08 pm
Well UOMF did it!! debuts this week in hot 100 at #100, not her best debut ever but I’m happy!
February 24th, 2010 at 4:13 pm
Well at least it debuted so that’s her 42nd appearance inside the Hot 100 and moves her up on the list among 8 women to achieve 40 or more entries on the Hot 100.
February 24th, 2010 at 5:03 pm
I really hope the Grammys would give Mariah more recognition. I mean MOAIA is a GREAT album – in my opinion a much more musically grounded one than E=MC2 or TEOM. It is a consistent and strong piece of work, and should at least be nominated for Best Contemporary R&B Album. Her vocal performances here are fantastic as well – I would expect a Best Female Pop Vocal win for IWTKWLI and a nomination for Best Female R&B Vocals (UOMF).
Give this legend more of those damned Grammys please! She deserves much more than the 5 she’s had! And… she needs just 5 more nominations to be the second most nominated female artiste, together with Barbra and Alison.
February 24th, 2010 at 5:53 pm
I don’t care about the Grammys. I have not watched in 3 years and will never again but if they want to give her more cool, if not, that’s OK too!
February 24th, 2010 at 6:56 pm
Still, lots of people look to the Grammys as a sorta benchmark for good music. I’ve heard people talk about how much more talented Beyonce and Alicia is than Mariah because they have more than tripled and doubled, respectively, Mariah’s haul! I couldn’t give a damn to the Grammys but other people do. I just want recognition for my Mimi! Recognition and respect.
February 24th, 2010 at 7:17 pm
Obsessed fan,
I understand your reasons but awards are not the true benchmark of a true artist. After all, the legendary Diana Ross, who helped define music with The Supremes and later as a solo act, does not have a single Grammy award. The same for Little Richard who helped create rock ‘n roll music. He has never won a Grammy. Are Beyonce and Alicia more talented than Diana and Little Richard in the pantheon of music? Hello no!
I want recognition too but MC had been recognized with 18 #1 songs and worldwide acclaim as one of the top modern day female singers.
February 25th, 2010 at 6:30 am
Yes, they can give Beyonce and Alicia Keys all the grammys they want, but everyone with a pair of ears working properly will agree that vocally Mariah is several steps higher than both of them.
February 25th, 2010 at 7:38 am
I had an argument with my colleagues over Mariah again. Sigh. They were saying how they loved her during the Musicbox, Daydream and Butterfly days. They also said that Butterfly was her last great album.
and they always cite the Grammys and American Music Awards to say that Mariah’s not as great as I think.
On another note – woooohoooo to Mariah’s 42nd entry on the Billboard Hot 100 charts!! :-p
February 25th, 2010 at 8:07 am
But Mariah is one of the highest awarded artist at AMA I think. Obviously Mariah is as great as you think or more, there’s no solo artist with more #1 hits than her and she’s also the female songwritter with the most #1 hits. Awards can be manipulated and those 2 female artist previously mentioned having each more grammys than Mariah & Whitney Houston combined is a big proof of that.
February 25th, 2010 at 12:02 pm
Juan Antonio,
Tell it brother!
Again, I have no issue with Beyonce or Alicia but the Grammys have no credibility.
Another example: Elvis Presley is the King of Rock ‘N Roll yet only won 3 Grammy Awards but in the Gospel category? How bizarre is that!
I don’t care what anyone says but no one can argue me into believing that Beyonce and Alicia tower above Mariah and Whitney in the history of music.
February 25th, 2010 at 3:04 pm
I beleive Mariah was teary eyed because of the incredible outpouring of love shown to her. Fan were standing up much of the concert, singing along with her, and gave thunderous ovations!!
February 25th, 2010 at 6:02 pm
Rea C,
Thanks. You always made good sense.
