  2. MARIAH MALE FAN Says:

  3. Egypt Says:

Watched Tennessee and TOTALLY LOVED IT!!

  4. Mark.S Says:

APPARENTLY VIDEOS 4 UOMF AND AC PUSHED BACK TILL NEXT TUES :(
AND MARIAH IS NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT!!

    CHCK HER TWITTER.

  5. sami Says:

    Ben,

I agree. It cheapens Mariah’s legacy and her Billboard track record when Sony pimps out these releases. She has 14/16 Top 10 albums and it this fails to go Top 10 it’ll bring down her average. FUCK YOU SONY. I will not buy this! Let this be a lesson to all artists: OWN you own master recordings from the start!

  6. jason Says:

    @Mark S,

I agree. If I feel bad for anyone it’s Mariah. She seemed very upset in her tweet. She loves her fans and I believe she wants her lambs to be pleased but it’s not HER fault if the label pushes things back. She really seemed disgusted. Not a side of Mariah I’m used to seeing but I understand.

  7. jason Says:

    On the bright side,

I think the label is still doing a much better job overall. Between the tour, the 2 new songs and 2 new videos, and her overall exposure at all the award shows for acting, I think that MC is getting back in the spotlight. :) Love ya MC

Lighten up people….. the Playlist compilation is a great thing! First, these are tracks that Mariah herself loves. She has mentioned a few of them before as wanting to release songs that she loves that were not #1s or best ofs.

#2, this is a tribute to her and her legacy of recording. The Playlist series is done to
spotlight important artists and their contributions. Who gives a s@#t about her “average”?

I think it’s a great tribute to her 20 years in the industry!! After all…what has IDJ done to
    celebrate her anniversary???!!!!

  9. Jeff Says:

@ Rea C, Mariah hasnt even been in IDJ that long to release a “Best of ” album
and secondly I personally think they should stop releasing songs we already have in other Compilations and in regular studio albums.

The next time Mariah or Sony decide to release a Album it better be of unreleased Material and rare songs we have not heard or were never released.

  10. jason Says:

    Hey guys and gals,

Just went to all access.com (you can get a free membership and get access to Mediabse). Mc is getting great ads already at Rhythmic for UOMF and great ads for Angels Cry at UAC. Considering that these are probably last weeks numbers, it’s a good sign :) The songs are only officially released today… Request Request Request… We need Crossover appeal which both of these songs offer. Love Ya MC…

  11. indi Says:

    I agree with Jeff.

They need to stop rehashing songs we already have and give us some unreleased songs to buy. FU Sony.

  12. rea c Says:

I don’t expect IDJ to do a BEST OF, but how ’bout some type of promo add to tie in to MOAIA? Whats the point of compilation albums, if you are not including pre-released tracks? AND….. a lot of these tracks have not been included in other albums other than their original release.

This album is only 9.99, and as is the case with most retrospectives, it serves to introduce music that has been released some time ago and hopefully expand her audience, and give
loyal followers a chance to fill gaps in their collections of the artist.

That’s the music business, no matter if it’s pop, classical, r&b, etc….if you’re the studio, you have the right to this music until copyrights expire. You can bet that Mariah as performer and writer of these songs is making money off the release.

I bought 3 copies to give a couple to friends who weren’t huge Mariah fans, and were only familiar with her big hits. They actually love the cd enough to check out other songs and were unaware of the long list of great tracks no one hears, i.e. Everything Fades Away. and Do You Think of Me?

Now that would be a great compilation album….. B Sides!!!!

  13. Marc Says:

    Rea,

The reality is Mariah doesn’t make as much money from these compilations as you think. Her royalties from Sony decrease as the years go on. As a performer she doesn’t make much from these releases but as a songwriter she makes money from songwriting royalties but per her split from Sony she had to agree to less and less of a percentage on royalties per cd from her time there as the years go on.

  14. obsessed fan Says:

I agree with rea c! I would love for Sony to release a compilation of B-sides and songs that were not released commercially but shld hv been! Off my head, I can already think of SOOOOO many songs: Vanishing, Prisoner, There’s Gotta Be A Way, If It’s Over, Do You Think Of Me, Never Forget You, All I’ve Ever Wanted, Slipping Away, Underneath The Stars, Forever, Open Arms, Outside, Close My Eyes, Whenever You Call, Butterfly, The Roof (featuring Mobb Depp), Breakdown, Sweetheart, Never Too Far / Hero Medley, Petals. I’d be glad to buy multiple copies to give away as gifts, and as a way of re-inroducing another side of Mariah to friends!!

  15. klos Says:

IDK… I think sony was a good label… And I think is good they release a compilation album, but not at this date… Maybe that was the reaseon IDJ Pushed back the album remixes…or maybe they are affraid Mariah can leave that IDJ Soon…

IDK What label can be the best for her:::: but i think IDJ Isn’t the right label for her (even if I loved the emancipation of mimi) they push back every date… the videos were pushed back to tuesday… and I guess mariah didn’t want that happen (for what i saw on her twitter) I think she must move to a label when they hear hear opinions…

I hope somebody upload the airplay for UP OUT MY FACE AND ANGELS CRY

  16. Miguel Says:

I think that compilations albums are great because as a big fan of Mariah I would love to have all Mariah songs.. But that isn’t always possible, because I can’t find the older material..
I’ll buy this compilation and I want them to continue because in that way I can have the older songs and the songs that aren’t usualy played in any place all together..

And this albums are a way to give nowadays people an aknowlege of mariah’s older songs..

Btw who gives a shit of her average.. That’s not her average that make’s her recognized it’s her music

  17. rea c Says:

Thank you, Miquel. Finally someone who understands the point behind albums such as these. True… she doesn’t make as much money, but in the long run it’s beneficial because there are many people who are fans who will not buy every album, or they may be new fans who want to fill in a a library of her music.

I doubt it was the reason the release date was pushed back. To get all the performers who are involved in this in the studio to record their parts ( it doesn’t seem so far as though Mariah is doing any new vocals), and to get it produced correctly, takes time when you have this many people involved. I think IDJ was unrealistic with their original release dates, I just wish they would think about it a little more before they set a date.

Continued push backs, while hopefully resulting in a better product, give the allusion that somethings wrong, or the studio doesn’t really have control of what’s going on. Sometimes I believe IDJ demonstrates it’s more of the latter ( and not just with there handling of Mariah).

  18. miguel Says:

yeah rea c thats the point.. but no one seems to understand it.
