Last week, Mariah’s “Up Out My Face” video debuted at #10 on BET’s “106 & Park.” Yesterday, the video was #2!

Keep voting everybody! Remember “I’ll be loving you long time” was #1 on this countdown for 6 nights in a row! We can top that for this amazing video, plus it starts to translate into sales if people see it long enough.
Once it hits #1 on the countdown we can focus on getting Angels Cry to debut on the countdown. At least one of the videos have to be on the countdown when the album is released in five weeks.
Keep voting to get UOMF #1. and then let’s get AC on the countdown.

Mariah needs to perform this song on a TV show so people know it’s out! The video helps a lot but a live performance is key. Also she should sing Angels Cry with Ne-yo live on American Idol when the album comes out!

So Akon says that Lady Gaga “pretty much retired me” and I think many of Mariah’s detractors would like to see her do the same, to make way for Gaga but I refuse to let people say “Mariah is over.” Several people have said that to me but I won’t hear of it!

Mariah has alot of teenage fans who loved obsessed so hopefully the numbers will go up each afternoon when they come home and download. I keep voting for UOMF on BET. If the song stays on the countdown for a few weeks, it will definitely help. Some songs, like obsessed, are growers and do better over time. UOMF is the video Mariah needs to get interest going again and it will. I’m gonna start bombarding POP stations with requests.

@Marc…..the reason Akon said that Lady Gaga “pretty much retired me” is because Akon was the man that signed her to his label, he didn’t mean she retired him in terms of he can’t top her….he means she retired him in terms of the money her ass just brought him!

I would like to pose a question to fans:
Do you guys think Mariah will rise to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart once again this decade?
I am undecided.
If you think yes, then give the reasons. If you think no, I’d also like to hear your reason.
For those who answer NO, I would appreciate if those who said YES don’t jump down their throats for providing their own honest answer. Let’s respect both sides of the aisle. Anyway, promote UOMF!

On a side note, I just read the Houston concert preview and I am getting tired of reporters trotting out Glitter in nearly every write-up about Mariah. They never bring up Body of Evidence when they write about Madonna! What a double standard of bias.
Will MC return to the top of the Hot 100? I say it’s possible.

On Mariah returning back to the top of Hot 100, its not not “if” its “when” so for me its so possible. Remember she is the only one who would likely to surpass the Beatles. Besides, Pop specially this electro pop come and go depending on the trend but R&B like MC’s music will always stay!

I think MC will have another “Emancipation Moment” this decade. She will probably have to go away for 2 yrs like she did for TEOM and just write from the heart, assemble another dream team, and be totally focused and devoted to the music. We know MC is a jokester but we need to see a more serious side to her image wise and musically. We need to see the grown and sexy MC, not the eternally 12 MC that has been here from E=MC forward. MC needs to realize that if she doesn’t take herself seriously, others will not either, which is where we are today.

I think it shows her longevity that she has the number 2 video on BET 106 and Park. I mean, this lady is still putting out music that folks want to hear. I am proud to be a Mariah fan. Going to see her tonight. Super excited about it. If she makes it back to the top or not, Mariah will always be around making good music. Have a great night Lambs. I will !!!

I think Mariah should put her energy in making quality albums and stop making “fun tracks” like Boy (I Need You), Touch My Body, Up Out My Face and I’m That Chick. She doesn’t need to prove herself anymore and she shouldn’t be so desperate making a hit single. Look at Sade this week: a great ballads album and sales of 502.000 in it’s first week, all that without a hit single. If Mariah moves into that direction she will have a long lasting career like Barbra Streisand has. Mariah has proven that she can make strong songs like I Only Wanted, Side Effects, Mine Again, It’s A Wrap and After Tonight, these are the songs that make me a true Mariah fan. And after all she also has the age to move into this direction.

I am a HUGE Sade fan and I have all her albums too and I LOVE “Soldier of Love” the song and album. Sade went away for 10 years and her fans showed her the love with 502,000 sold. I would miss Mariah but I think a long brief about 5-7 years would do her good.
P.S. I was one of the 502,000 who bought Sade’s new release!

I waited 3 whole yrs for E=Mc2 and after that era was over i thought i wasnt gonna hear from Mariah in years, then Memoirs came and i was excited. Maybe 4 years would be a good time for Mariah.
But then us lambs will have to find another hobbie, cuz wen Mariah takes a break, u dont hear much from her.

Since Sade was mentioned earlier I wanted to note that unlike Mariah her 1st week album sales have never been tied to the 1st single from her albums, which is the case with MC.
Mariah’s overall sales album-to-album have generally been tied to the success of her singles whereas that is not the case with Sade. I have been following Sade since her debut and have noted this about her career. I am savoring Soldier of Love because I might not hear from her in another 10 years but I never miss Mariah as much because I know she’ll release something 3 years from now.
Sometimes the public really needs to miss someone to get a good 1st week sales result.
